Previous comment I left was for another account - I am a dumbass haha. Your music taste is sick! Been getting into more instrumental stuff recently, Heavy Dub playlists have been in frequent rotation for me.

Report Comment

Haha no worries! I did wonder... and assumed it must be about Star trek Lol
And thanks, yeah, I too love instrumentals and dubby sounds!

Hey, Thanks for the add. I noticed you value genuine and easy-going conversations, and I feel the same—there’s something special about connecting with people who enjoy chatting about life and its little wonders. What’s been inspiring or bringing you joy lately?

Report Comment

Hi, thanks for accepting! I saw your detailed advice to a mutual friend, Nikki Lynze, that's having a hard time of it lately - some of us can have more than our fair share of burdens, challenges and all that she's been enduring of late; so I found that inspiring and heart warming :) I'm also inspired by reading other peoples stories and poetry. Art in all its forms inspires me; I'm in awe of it, whether it be on canvas, architecture etc. And that brings a lot of joy - as well as the little every day things in life, like the first cup of tea in the morning, feeding the birds/wild life in this arctic weather we're having in the UK at the moment. Listening to some of my old music on the player on my profile; mostly funky stuff from the 70s/80s. It's the closest I can get to time travel and the generally simpler, happier times they were :)
There's a sprinkling of joy to be had daily in just moments...
How about you ?

by Clara of Spacehaze; ; Report

Hi, thank you for such a thoughtful message. I’m glad you found my advice to Nikki inspiring, it’s always nice to be able to support others when life gets tough. I love how you find joy in both art and the simple pleasures of life. I agree, there’s something magical about the first cup of tea or listening to music that takes you back in time. Funky 70s/80s tunes sound like a great choice for that nostalgic vibe!
For me, I also find inspiration in art and creativity, especially through Listening to music from different genres and eras to evoke emotions and spark ideas.. And I completely relate to finding joy in small moments, they really do add up. What’s your go-to song or album from the 70s/80s that instantly lifts your mood?

by BBY-KAY; ; Report

Oh lordy, there are so many funky songs that are my 'go to' that lift me up from those eras. Probably 'Everybody' by Instant Funk. Do what you wanna do - T. Connection. Anything by Funkedelic or Parliament, Slave (70s)
Albums? Earth, Wind and Fire were genius musicians of their time and I had many of their albums. I'm a huge Michael Jackson fan. Evelyn King's greatest hits album. I feel so blessed living through those eras of life/music generally being so high vibe. I saw Bob Marley and the Wailers in concert when I was 18 at Bingley Hall in Stafford. I've Seen Maxi Priest and UB40, so many gifted and fabulous artists back then. The music player on my page displays all that i love if you ever get the time to have a listen :)
Same question back at'cha!

by Clara of Spacehaze; ; Report

Wow, what an amazing collection of music and experiences, I can only imagine how incredible it must have been to see Bob Marley and the Wailers live what a memory to treasure. Earth, Wind & Fire, Michael Jackson, and Evelyn King are absolute legends. It’s true, the vibe of music from those eras is unmatched so soulful and uplifting. I’ll definitely check out the music on your page when I get a moment; I’m curious to explore more of what you love.

As for me, I’m a big fan of Michael Jackson too—his music is timeless. I also enjoy artists like Stevie Wonder and Prince for their incredible talent and energy. Albums like 'Songs in the Key of Life' and 'Purple Rain' are just iconic. Lately, I’ve been diving into some funk classics too there’s something about that groove that never gets old. Thank you for sharing such an inspiring list.

by BBY-KAY; ; Report

Not sure if I got the notification but only just happened to see your reply by randomly going onto my page!

I agree with you, yes, Stevie Wonder is phenomenal and a big musical presence in those impressionable growing up years; he's done/written some outstanding music.
And as you say, Prince another innovator and Icon. I went to see him at the 02 arena, with Beverly Knight supporting him, about 12/15 years ago, now. Too many 'Greats' have now passed and are sorely missed.

And yes, agreed, those Funk classics seem to be way ahead of their time. Just timeless - thank god for youtube and the music vaults!

Music can evoke so many emotions, and has always been my salvation! :)

by Clara of Spacehaze; ; Report

Ah, no worries at all, glad you stumbled onto my reply! Guess the universe wanted you to see it eventually.
Wow, you saw Prince live at the O2 with Beverley Knight? That must have been unreal! I’m jealous I can only imagine the energy in that arena. You're so right, though, too many legends have left us, but their music keeps them alive. Funk and soul classics are like fine wine, they just get better with time. And yes, thank everything for YouTube and music archives; without them, I’d probably have been lost in silence by now.
More also,I wanted to give you an instant message but it said I cannot start a conversation with you because you’ve restricted who can send you IMS.
Speaking of music and emotions, what’s the vibe for today? Got any exciting plans or are we sticking to chill mode with some Stevie or Prince in the background?

by BBY-KAY; ; Report

Yes, sorry about that; in the past I've had some strange folk messaging me, like 'sugar daddies' and other dodgy characters so thought it best to just disable it.

I've nothing planned until probably April/May when I try and have a holiday, preferably somewhere warm! as I did last April to Orihuela in Spain; the temperatures are pretty mild all year round there, but does get chilly on a winter's evening. We (ex hubby) used to live out that way for about 7 years, since 2014 till just after lockdown. I'm missing that lifestyle for sure!

I can't do too much excitement at the moment anyway as I managed to somehow trip over myself/loose sock on and went crashing down onto the coffee table Lol Ouch!! I think I cracked a rib as I've been in agony ever since and can hardly move - the muscle or something keeps going into an involuntary spasm. So no sleep for days now... I'm not usually clumsy but these things happen Lol
I don't think there's much that can be done for fractures or broken ribs according to what I've read on the internet. Damn!

How about you? are you one for being organised/making plans for the coming year or do like to just take each day as it comes?
Do you get time for hobbies?

by Clara of Spacehaze; ; Report

Wow, you’ve been through a lot! First of all, cracking a rib by tripping over yourself? That’s like the most dramatic rom-com move ever—minus the romantic hero swooping in to catch you, unfortunately. But hey, you're still the main character! Seriously though, I hope you’re giving yourself all the TLC possible. Broken ribs are like that one annoying friend who keeps reminding you they’re there every time you move. Definitely rest up!

Now, Orihuela sounds amazing—Spain, sun, and sangria, yes please! You’re making me want to book a flight right now. Seven years out there must’ve been such an adventure. I can only imagine how much you must miss it. But I hope you’re plotting that holiday in April/May with military precision—something tells me you’d make it a fantastic escape.

As for me, I’m somewhere between planning my life and just winging it, depending on the day! I like to pretend I’m organized, but let’s be real, half the time I’m just taking it as it comes and hoping for the best. As for hobbies, I love keeping busy—writing, reading, or trying out random new things (badly, but hey, effort counts). What about you? Are you much of a hobby person, or does life just keep you too busy to even think about it?

And do you have a dream spot you’d love to visit besides Spain? Or is Spain always the go-to?

Yes, we re-friended about a year ago (just had a look back at the profile comments). I think you deleted from here as the 'Spacehey Cowboy' or something like that, and then rejoined.
I don't post regularly on here so that's probably why you haven't seen me around much, but I do try and check in most days!
Have a good week! :)

Ah u remembered, I thought ur profile name looked familar. Yeah it was Galatikcowb0y I do believe. I left the first year I signed up because I was getting too many friend request from bands, artist & minors. I didn't care for all that l cause I'm an elder with morals & not some creepazoid. So I waited to see spacehey mature a lil more then decided to come back under another sn. Since I'm from Houston Texas but lived half of my life in cajun country I figured Cajunghost sounded good since I'm sort of a loner.
