Have a favourite architecture style? definitely gothic and renaissance (in both cases flemish and north italian in particular), love the truthfulness of romanesque (especially south french) and brutalism is growing on me. i hate almost every building since 1950 though. cheaper, cheaper, cheapest, and inhuman! by snowy_forest_emo; ; Report - Excellent taste. I visited north Italy a couple years ago, and the architecture really stood out, the sheer craftsmanship and artistry blew me away (if you've been, you'll know what I mean!). Brutalism is difficult for me, as a maximalist :P. But the foreboding nature of that style can be really impressive, especially in east Europe. I feel the same about cheap post-1950's styles, although in a design sense, I do find a lot of mid-century furniture to be pleasing to the eye. by Pelecinus Polyturator; ; Report yes i've been to italy many times, north and central, just awe-inspiring every time. makes me so happy :) siena and florence are my faves so far. by snowy_forest_emo; ; Report |
