* i like to collect random hobbies, but in overall i find myself to be more of an artistic person. since i love music, in my free time i usually play with different arrangements and create some songs. im not advertising it on this profile, so dont worry lol. im trying to learn acoustic guitar too, but still just a newbie. as for programs i use, fl studio and koala! * i love the internet and creating things, and thats why im into programming. its been some time since i started in this area, but im actually only a beginner. currently into back-end languages, and learning more about PHP and MySQL. * i like to play games too! not really into competitive games [tho i play from time to time], i spend most of my playthroughs on genres such as adventure, story and, of course, horror! oh, and i enjoy rpg-maker games too, might be just the nostalgia factor, but i love them deeply. i could even make an entire tier-list about it, but it would take too much time, LOL. * skating from time to time feels great for me. i enjoy just cruising around my town, specially just getting the vibes, yk? |

Hey man thanks for the add, cool profile! great music taste, what kind of 90s dj stuff do you enjoy? i really recommend this mix, it's just out of this world https://www.mixcloud.com/DjSiN21/ltj-bukem-alsosathens-for-the-first-time-in-greece1994he-played-one-handed-enjoy/ youre welcome dude, your profile is really cool too! thats actually an insane mix right there, you got a really interesting taste as well. i dont have necessarily a mix to show you [since the ones i listen are really recent], rather ive got some DJs i looked up to, such as DJ Sharpnel. hes got some weird stuff on his discography and mixtapes, but i really enjoy some of his techno songs. i would say about nujabes, but sadly pretty much of what he did in the 90s is really difficult to find online hahaha. theres also some 90s euro house music i listen from time to time, really love the vibes man. thank you and i get you, there's so many mixes to listen to and since theyre usually much longer than albums for some reason i often stick to pre-digital ones, idk why lol but ive gotten listen to more newer ones too. i've tried getting into some nerdcore techno before, some of it is amazing and then the next song is just so out there it doesnt really click for me :p i've never heard of dj shrapnel so i'll give him a try, thank you for the rec. ooh, i actually love nujabes' albums and ive been meaning to check out the good music cuisine mix (ur right there's not many to find lol), i expect like dj shadow (who i also like) vibes but we'll see lol. i also love eurodance, so nostalgic, reminds me of simpler times.. not completely eurodance, but tony de vit was a really unique DJ you may like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqMYAe-wQ7U by toomanyflannels; ; Report what the hell is wrong with you man, every rec is absolutely on point, really enjoying this mixtape of tony de vit! about nerdcore techno songs, yeah, def agree with you. theres some albums i would save, but its really hard to find something with a continuous vibe haha. im really happy to see another nujabes fan, for some weird reason i dont find too many here. you may expect some similarities between good music and some works of dj shadow, which i believe you will enjoy. also, endtroducing made me feel like listening to J Dilla for the first time hahaha. do you have a favorite genre from the 90s? i find really interesting how breakcore evolved during that time. lol i've just spent a bit too much time listening to music :^) not sure if this counts as nerdcore techno, but probably one of my favorite songs to come out of japan https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZNOVvGnxfg yes, can't wait to hear the nujabes stuff, i really love the vibe from putting together 70s soul/rnb into beats, so chill.. endtroducing is a masterpiece, i think i like it a bit more than dilla's donuts but it is great also. hmm, it's hard for me to tell, but i think my fav 90s genre would be either atmo dnb or dub techno, like Basic Channel. same, i think im one of those ppl who prefers 90s breakcore a la Alec Empire over the new stuff but the new can be good too. by toomanyflannels; ; Report at this point we are just random music nerds lololol. about that Bubble B i dont think it qualifies as nerdcore techno, but i lack the knowledge to actually know its genre XD. i find so interesting how japan has those really interesting gems that we simply can come across randomly. like, some time ago, i stumbled upon a band called "BUDDHA BRAND", idk if you happen to know them. the way they managed to work with a classic soul sample got me in awe lol [link: https://youtu.be/pxsx4027djE?si=Y1tyH9vghKaE4BSU], i believe you will enjoy it. atmo dnb is a really interesting choice man, i used to study with those musics and things would turn out really great lol. about breakcore, i find myself in the middle of opinions XD, i like how some people get experimental with it [despite many not being exactly breakcore] nowadays, but i still enjoy the "classical" ones. for sure, it's hard to find JP music not knowing japanese (well i can read a lil) but there's some great stuff to be discovered. i checked out that song you sent and i really liked it! the beats in JP hip hop are so good.. I've listened to others before, like scha dara parr and tha blue herb, and recently these guys called Aphrodite Gang who are more modern and use great jazz samples. im the exact same haha, there's something about a good atmo dnb mix that really gets me working and studying lol. and i can see where you're coming from, i go through lots of obscure electronic music and i like songs that try to do something a bit different because some of the 90s stuff can start sounding the same at some point. this isn't rly breakcore but veryy heavy for 1996, you might like it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uO68lj1Sgx8 by toomanyflannels; ; Report is it my impression, or does this song by alpha omega uses the iconic amen break? it does have really catchy drums, i love listening to songs with it! as for japanese guys in the scene, i dont think ive heard about those you commented, will check them after finishing this comment lol. also, i find a huge flex that you can actually read japanese a little. the maximum i achieved was to know the kanji for love and what is katakana/hiragana XD. thats true, i skipped many 90s songs, specially house and techno, from my playlists due to them sounding really, really similar to each other. do you happen to make some music? ive seen in your profile that you have some skills with DJing [hope i got the grammar for this right haha]. yes, i do think it does, but im not as good as identifying it compared to the think break because i hear it so much it just doesnt stick out to me anymore lol. it takes me ages to read something in japanese but i sort of can. kanji is very difficult, at my peak i knew about 200 of them, but that's often still not enough to fully understand a sentence. and katakana/hiragana is easy enough to learn if you use mnemonics and keep immersing urself in the language. if u ever wanna learn more japanese, check out the Japanese Like A Breeze anki decks, they helped me a lot. i wish i did, but i dont play any instruments, nor can i make any EDM, i just enjoy going on VirtualDJ and mixing some songs together :p by toomanyflannels; ; Report YOU KNEW 200 KANJI? bro. thats some sick determination youve got, like, really, really impressive. but yeah, even tho its a huge number, it still is hard to fully understand what others say, even online. for example, it took me forever to understand why grass was related with their laughs [kinda still am tho lol]. did you find some interesting things on their side of the internet? i would spend unhealthy amount of time diving on their things, it seems so strictly exclusive. since youve virtualdj, have you uploaded any mixs online? i would love to hear, after all, youve got some sick taste in music hahaha. would do good as a dj, just saying. Thank you haha, if you do an Anki deck for kanji, set it to maybe 10-15 a day it add up (no need for more if youre doing JP like a breeze cuz comprehension's more important imo) oh and yeah. to this day it also confuses me the different readings and how each kanji can mean different things, but ig it makes sense with the sentence's context. i love the japanese internet too, dan-ball.jp is the coolest flash game site i've ever come across (my page is a homage to their site :p), ive spent too many hours on Stick Ranger growing up. I've sadly never uploaded any mixes online, i do have a pretty good sense of putting together a fitting track list, but my song transitions still aren't the best, i'm working in it though by toomanyflannels; ; Report it must have taken forever for you to do a replica of the dan-ball style in your profile, but it really came out well. i feel like discovering an easter egg now that i know the reference lolol. ive tried some japanese anki decks a long, long time ago, but i wasnt really that concerned to exactly learn the language. but i just find it so beautiful. there are lots of different books that i would love to read in its original language, such as No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai [even tho ive never really started it, but the premise makes me curious], or just different stories yk? if you upload some mixings online, please share with me, would love to see more of your artistic works haha. yo ive read no longer human and it literally changed my life. its so depressing but if you've felt depressed i feel like you'll really feel understood by that book. the japanese KNOW how to write about depression lmao. there's also a manga adaptation by junji ito, i recommend both for different reasons. |
