Hi Jon, here's some updates because your impact on my life is immense and I want to tell you <3

I'm surprised and happy there's so many bunnies in the city I live. It's my first time living completely alone in an actual (capital C) City so I didn't even think there might not be any come warmer weather. I'm sooo thankful for all the little grassy areas around. Every time one catches my eye I'm reminded of you. I stop to watch them until they hop out of sight.

And then one of my final papers from this semester is about grieving online and how the strength of the affect legitimizes and shows the depth of our online connections. I was surprised to find some articles about similar phenomena already, one of them focusing on OG MySpace profile comments. Maybe one day mine will be among them, where people can read about spacehey, the strength of online connections fostered in spaces like these and why they're so special (and maybe they'll be invited to imagine a user with a bunny profile picture to help make the argument).

All that to say, I'm so and still deeply moved by the community you helped build here, your care and love is infectious and I'm inspired to share it as far as I can to honor you in the ways I know how. Instead of striking up a conversation with a spacehey shirt or a sticker, it'll be in academic settings, or to friends who ask what I'm up to. I'm sad this is how these ideas entered my work, but it helps me keep your memory so I am grateful to think about it.

Jon, I may be leaving and as silly as this sounds, it is a little like losing you AGAIN

For now, I can still see your comments and profile and such, even though I know you're gone.

I've brought your last profile photo with me to a new site, just hanging out in a photo album over there, and mayhap I'll be able to bring over a couple more from you,

But if I do end up leaving here, I'll be carrying your memory over wherever I go.

im glad you arent here to see the state of spacehey now, at least. i think it would make you sad. i know how much you loved this place for all of the connections you made. on one hand, i want An to just delete the site. on the other hand, spacehey is very much jon's space, to me. it would make me so sad to lose it

Hey Jon, I haven't been able to bring myself to stop by here since you left. Things have been looking up for me lots. I really miss your bulletins, pics of Dita, hearing about ur applesauce, various 420 reports, etc.
I genuinely cannot overstate how much you meant to me, especially in those last few months. We were both struggling really hard then, but you never failed to be there for me when I needed it. I had others who should have been there at the time and weren't. You genuinely saved me from myself I believe. I wish you would've said goodbye before it happened. It completely broke me when I heard the official news.
There are so many other things that have happened in life since. I really wish I could tell you about them all. I miss sharing life updates with you. I even find myself thinking about when you'll post again, when we'll talk again.
I miss you so much homie. Someday we'll meet up and I'll bring my stash box.

omg jon guess what! today i saw my mom for the first time in months !! we went to lunch together and then we went to this little local toy store next door to the restaurant. we spent so much time in there, we went straight to the jellycats first. i wanted one but theyre SO EXPENSIVE!!! there were lots of bunny ones and my mom wanted them all (she loves bunnies too hehe)

i thought youd like to know because i know how much spending time with your mom meant to you and i think youd be so happy that i had a really good time :D

also... i have to confess... i still havent made your applesauce orz I PROMISE I WILL THOUGH!!! I fell out of social media for a few months and knew something wasn't right when I logged back in and didn't see your bulletins. i jus logged on for the first time in sooo many months, one of the first things i did was check your profile . im so devastated. my heart is breaking into 1 million tiny pieces. i feel so sad i wasnt here. if i had known i would have stayed even if just for u.
