Music |
Can I sum this up by saying that one of my favorite songs is titled "Nobody's Ever Going to Want Me"? Genre-wise, I like post-rock, ambient (at least the Brian Eno kind that tries to be more than white noise), and basically anything that someone at some point has tried calling emo. If it makes me want to cry, I'm probably into it. I'm also into some folk stuff like The Avett Brothers, though indie folk kind of got dragged through the mud for a bit by FM radio so I'm more wary with that stuff. Bright Eyes and Knuckle Puck are probably my favorite bands right now. |

Movies |
No Country for Old Men was a film script in the guise of a novel that the Coen Brothers brought to life. Besides that, uh, The Revenant, The Shawshank Redemption, Elysium, and Alita Battle Angel(it was alright, fight me). I've not been that into movies up to this point but if you have any good ones then please suggest them to me! |

Don't watch much of this. Documentaries and the UK version of Kitchen Nightmares have been the only thing to really grab my attention. |

Books |
Anything by McCarthy. Palahniuk can be fun when the book's gimmick doesn't feel like it's getting in the way of the story. John Williams also seems to be great, though I'm only a bit into Stoner. Regrettably I'm also a DFW fan. I'm looking at Pynchon and Joyce too because really, if you're not letting 4chan dictate your literary tastes than who are you letting? |

What's good? Thanks for the add. Just wanted to say if you like reading you should check out the book House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. It's amazing. Oh yeah, I have that one. I stopped it a bit in because the subject matter was starting to unnerve me but it's definitely on my to-read list. I don't blame you. The first time I read it I had to set it down for a little cause I literally felt like it was driving me insane (ironically I was going insane at the time, so the fact that I related so much to the main character freaked me the fuck out).
