Yes Yes. I'm right on the Gen X/Millennial border at 1980. I do think Gen X were hard done by, we had a brief bit of marketing in the late 90's then that was it.

I was just saying to another Gen X'er, I think smartphones changed everything. So in the 2000's, we had Youtube, Facebook, myspace, all the good stuff. But still had some disconnection. Smartphones changed all that, made everything in your face and constant barrage of media.

I do find Facebook super useful for events and promoting a location/business, but you can't just talk and chill with new people, as I'm doing with you here. Everyone is looking at your feed, your coworkers, family, neighbours, they can see everything.

You're stuck to the same social bubble and actively discouraged from adding new people (I'm always weary of randoms adding me). MySpace, you were encouraged to add new people and I made so many (real life!) friends there.

This place feels the same... Great.

lol! I was already in the process of relearning it since it's been upgraded to HTML5, and of course CSS along with it.

And I agree about the toxicity of the other social media sites. When did things become so hateful....of EVERYTHING??

This place is pretty zen though, I hope it stays that way. :)
