Your podcast keeps me entertained while I spend 8 hours on a forklift. I’ve had this question Mitch that I’ve had since I started listening all those years ago. Maybe I should of just written to the podcast but I’m a lazy fuck. Were you influenced by bright eyes at all? When I first heard your songs I immediately thought you sounded like Conor and your songs reminded me of earlier bright eyes.

not big into bright eyes personally! but i was super into saddle creek growing as a teen so i'm for sure familiar with their work from when i was like fourteen lol. i definitely hear the similarities in early bright eyes, though. but my actual influences (especially at the time) were definitely more along the lines of owen ashworth from casiotone for the painfully alone, or even jamie stewart from the band xiu xiu. i'd highly suggest checking those projects out if you haven't before.
