OK, finally got around to a reply -- yes, they are. Seems out of character for me, but I stumbled upon them by way being a British TV geek, more specifically about the presentation (the stuff between the programs), as they launched Channel 5, the UK's fifth OTA television network, back in 97. I just fell down the rabbithole, especially when I learned they had a wacky, cameo-filled movie that took potshots at idiot Hollywood execs and the awful British tabloids, in addition to lampshading all the cliches and having random aliens. I love my parody movies, especially if they're filled with more subtle stuff to balance out the wackiness.
But yeah, their music is catchy as hell and it often provides me with a few moments of light-heartedness, since they're from a (seemingly) better time, when the world seemingly wasn't on fire 24/7 and physical retail was still going strong.
