I was probably on the way to or back from a day trip to Portland to do some errands when you dropped me your note, and it was a mostly sunny day and it was GLORIOUS, I tell you! The Northwest really does know how to show herself off sometimes, eh? :) I hope you had a fun weekend.

The northwest definitely likes to show off her colors on any season. I have to say I am so happy she's finally sharing some warmth :) my weekend was wonderful. Busy but wonderful. Getting some yard work done. So excited. I hope your week is treating you well so far. And happy st patty's day to you

It's been a really mild winter around here, so while it's been getting sunny and warmer lately, that's a bit relative for us since it never got super cold here like it usually does. And yes to the yard work and excitement about that. We had plans to do some serious gardening and growing some fruits and veggies in the backyard, but then we had a kiddo at the end of 2019 and that sort of threw us out of balance for a year (kids make life interesting, that's for sure!) and we're just getting our bearings again, so hopefully we can make a go of that this year! It really has been a fantastic, blessed week thus far, and I hope the same will prove true for you, friend!

Awe congrats. Word of advice. staple your eyelids open lol. Kids grow up so fast. They are truly something.
I can seem to maintain a garden very well. I'm not very good at it. Hopefully I can get my grass to grow. We just got some fresh healthy soil and covered our front yard with it. I am going to be getting seed and laying it this weekend. Super excited. I was also given sunflower seeds. Hopefully I can get those to grow too. :) I am really glad winter was mild. I was a little worried we were going to get hammered. Lol

Thanks! And I've learned that lesson (stapling my eyelids open/kids growing up fast) from our first child, so I'm right there with you on all of that!
We're trying to clear out our raised bed a bit so we can grow a few things this year. Fingers crossed in that department, as it's been hit-or-miss in the past. Oooo, I remember planting sunflowers several years ago...grew exceptionally well, but we didn't get to enjoy any prospective fruits of the labor, so to speak, because the neighborhood squirrels managed to decapitate almost every last one of them, or the flowers struggled for some other reason. I hope you have better fortune than we did!
I remember reading that we were due for a mild, if wet, fall and winter, so I'm not totally surprised that came about. That said, I really was hoping for one good snowfall so we could take our kids out and play a bit. Maybe next winter! :)
