✭・ᛝ Digital Art ᛝ・✫

I've been a digital artist for years now, and I've always dabbled in different creative outlets, from 3D sculpting to portraiture. I want to learn it all. As always, my goal is to cram as much into my brain as humanly possible before burnout inevitably finds me and drags my ass back down to art block hell.

Note: I have a greyscale filter on this blog that washes out the colours of my artwork, which is a pain but without it my profile just looks ugly so I pretend I do not see. Hover your mouse over the gallery to see each picture properly!

✭・What Software?・✫

I use Procreate on my iPad! In the past, I had tried out a handful of different types of Software, like Paint Tool SAI, etc., but found that Procreate generally works the best for me. Additionally, I use the Frunsi wireless keyboard for Procreate, which is really helpful.

✭・Canvas Size?・✫

My preferred canvas size is 3508 x 4961px, but this can vary. I think I just settled on this size one day and used it as my default.

✭・Favourite Brush Pack?・✫

I have so many brushes that it's quite difficult to narrow them down, but I think the brush packs I use the most are by Rin and Istebrak. Both of them are incredible artists who create tutorials on YouTube, and I cannot recommend them enough!

✭・How Do You Practice?・✫

If you want to learn how to draw something new, then reference studies are the way to go! For example, anatomy isn't exactly my strong suit, so I filled a page with random body parts to get a feel for it. Break everything down into shapes, measure when you can and don't forget to flip your canvas! Practising isn't easy, but don't be discouraged! Keep it up, and you will see progress!

✭・What Do You Want To Draw?・✫

Monsters!! For a very long time, my goal has been to draw the most freakish monsters possible, but for some reason, I always get artblock whenever I try! For this reason, I'm studying portraiture right now because I think it's good to know the anatomy of the face, so that we can distort it into something grotesque. I'll know I'm on the right track when I finally manage to draw a werewolf that doesn't look like the goddamn weasel from the Rapunzel Barbie Movie. Until then, I just gotta keep trying.

Whenever someone asks me what kind of music I like, or what genres are my favourite I just freeze and go blank because I no idea how to narrow it down. Im constantly making playlists on Spotify to fit a certain mood and they vary in genre from gloomy alt rock, to bard core. I just love trying to match music to themes and its helps when I draw!
