Charli I hate elong muskg ugh me toooooo. is this about the twitter dm limits or did he do some other dreadful thing i have somehow yet to hear about? I don't have a twitter account and I just want to see the lain twitter page but I can't without logging in. omg yeah he implemented that a little while ago he's so annoying. he recently announced he wanted to change the twt logo to 'x' too, and also do away with all the twitter branding lmao I mean, I never liked twitter so I don't really mind him shitting on twitters image, I just wish I could watch without making an account. yeah that would be nice! unfortunately he ruins everything :P honestly i can't believe how much he's fucked up the platform, it's a total train wreck I think the deck was rigged against him (twitter was never a sound company and it existed almost entire off of investment capital), he took a house of cards that was barely intact and literally shit on it. It is amazing that someone whose one actual skill is supply chain logistics just could not rationalize the fact that he would never make twitter profitable. and i love him for it tbh. the way he is fucking it up beyond repair is honestly impressive |

They've announced an official lain chatbot ewww god!! they just never stop do they? i can't imagine knowing that character, and deciding that she's the one to make a chatbot for. i know there are many different interpretations to the show but i think it's kinda universal that it focuses on relations to technology! i wouldn't be surprised if the people behind this have never actually watched sel. |

What's stopping you from getting sleep? You should try going for a run an hour or two before bed, so you'll just be physically exhaused come bed time. i used to take walks but it doesn't work on me and where i live is not runnable :( but thanks for the idea!!! |

What drove you to using spacehey? saw a vid on tiktok abt themes and i enjoy building themes so i thought i'd check it out :D wbu? Joined this because I was on myspace.windows93.net when it died, and I got on that one because a friend of mine asked me for help with css. Yeah. I don't miss wondows93 myspace very much. Aside from having an unthemed home page, everything on spacehey is better. yeah i stumbled across it the other day and the only interesting thing was the profiles but those seemed pretty inactive lol. it's a cool website name tho Lmao yea it's more than just inactive. The whole site is archived nwo, so no one can log into their profiles. Big drama and data leaks. oooo shit that sucks! how bad were the leaks if they had to archive the entire site?? |

Have you played the lain psx game? That's really strange. Does the simplified version work for you? i can see the website and the clips that are linked but im not sure if im missing something or if the website is just clips Yeah so the original game has an interactive browser for seeing all of these clips and unlocks them in a really cryptic order as you watch through them, but other than that, the simplified website is all the same content. |

Also on this topic, I can't say I have too great a grasp on the tone of this since I had to run it through a translator, but this gives me bad vibes https://www.nbcuni.co.jp/rondorobe/anime/lain/ttl/ . yeah it's hard to tell since i don't know japanese either but it sounds like they want to own rights to fanworks? like for free labour? that's jacked. It seems that they've realized that lain is a valuable ip especially with it's 25th anniversary and despera ostensibly coming out in the next few years, so they wanna make sure they're still in control of the ip. The document reads to me like it's them trying to play it fair, saying "alright, we don't wanna shut down the fan community, but let's make it clear that we own lain." yeah that is what it sounds like. i don't understand why companies always have to put their feet down though, because everybody knows who owns the original, and fanworks foster a community. always seems so backwards to me lol. It's hilarious why they did it too. It was bootleg shirts that got Ueda upset about the fandom using lain branding, lmao. From what I understand though, japan has a much more corporate view on intellectual property than most of the west. lmaooo oh man that is ridiculous. i like that ai isn't allowed to be copyrighted over there though. there needs to be a lot more laws surrounding ai usage i think. They haven't established rules on weather or not the output of an AI model is able to be copyrighted yet, that article was saying that people creating ai models are allowed to train on anything without permission. These are dark times. ridiculous world we live in. i really don't have high hopes for the future regarding ai. Honestly I don't expect it to be that bad as long as AI generated works are denied copyright. I also don't think that we will get a general ai any time soon (at least not one based off of an llm) due to the issues they have with simulation, overtraining, the diminishing returns for increased model size, etc. These are dark times, but we must have faith or all is lost. |
