thanks to 56,927 rotating special interest and hobbies - i'm pretty good at a lot of things, but not especially great at any one thing.

i'll try anything at least once and probably succeed, but then i'll likely decide that i've achieved an acceptable level of mastery and never do it again.

as a small kid, i developed a fascination and reverence for black and white, silent films, silver screen, and early cinema classics. so, the east side kids/bowery boys (anything with leo gorcey, bobby jordan, sammy morrison, or huntz hall), laurel and hardy (i am 100% stan), clara bow, james cagney, marlon brando, humphrey bogart, mae west, marlene dietrich, the marx brothers (team harpo!), abbott and costello, pat o'brein, and charlie chaplin are all very close to my heart.

cloud atlas, waking life, the fountain, wristcutters a love story, i heart huckabees, empire records, angels with dirty faces, labyrinth, the goonies, bill and ted, stardust, the fifth element, spooks run wild, resident evil, neverending story, the last unicorn, and all the monster classics starring bela lugosi and boris karloff (my favorite, the raven, has both).
