I don't watch much anime at the moment, but my all-time favorites are Evangelion, Serial Experiments Lain, Haibane Renmei, Paranoia Agent, Haruhi Suzumiya, Girls' Last Tour, Azumanga Daioh, Gosick, Madoka Magica, and PSYCHO-PASS. |

Books |
I devote my time reading non-fiction, scholarly books, centering around the topics I'm interested in, or related to the areas of my research: continental philosophy (phenomenology, deconstruction, structuralism, etc.), technology, psychoanalysis, and Marxism (and critical theory in general). In the case of fiction, meanwhile, the kind of horror written by Lovecraft, Ligotti, and the New Weird is my vibe. (You can visit my Goodreads account here, which is currently under construction.) |

you should probably give higurashi no naku koro ni a read, you seem like the type of person who'd enjoy it!! I'm very familiar with the When They Cry franchise, and I hold it in high regard. With regards to Higurashi, I've only experienced the anime adaptations and not the original visual novels (which I have copies of, but haven't found the time to play them). However, I've played through the entirety of Umineko and the first chapter of Ciconia, which are by far the greatest pieces of fiction I've read so far. by Red Monaca; ; Report thats so crazy, im planning on reading umineko although ive seen the anime....and ive read two higurashi visual novels and watched the anime The anime adaptation doesn't do justice to Umineko (and I'm starting to suspect the same for the Higurashi anime), which I why I couldn't recommend enough for you to start reading the novels! They're exhilarating, scary, and thought-provoking. There's spectacle too, if you're into the action-y stuff of Fate and most shounen anime. by Red Monaca; ; Report |
