hahah there's never enough when it comes to music! Well, that's quite the music spectrum to move within! like top 3 motown artists? (sign me up for the four tops, smokey robinson & the miracles and diana ross & the supremes in case- even if their 80s output was super cool too!). I've always collected black music over the past 10 years- from soul to funk, boogie, slow jams, etc. Would be eager to learn more about that smooth jazz tip of things you mentioned above ;)

right? Those cats turned everything they'd touch into gold! Love their 60s outputs, even if their best music was released in the 70s! Smokey's "baby that's backatcha" gotta be of one my alltime desert island tunes! Even david Ruffin's and Eddie Kendrick's 70s/80s outputs were so cool too! Again- too many names and titles to be narrowed down into a selected number of faves if you think about it!

As to the smooth jazz thingy you dropped my way, I gotta say I was positively impressed- loved those cheesy yet moody progressions. Kinda reminded me of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cx8UvTLLjqs . The whole record is pretty solid and very Weather Report-ey in the overall musical picture it creates.

Have you ever checked out any Pharaoh Sanders/Wendell Harrison, etc.? If you have a sweet spot for spiritual/fusion jazz, both names could be up your street!
