Thanks for the add! Fellow performer, dog lover, reader! Yes! Since I was 13...Majored in drama and creative writing in high school, theatre minor in college, lots of community theatre, a couple of indy film projects, five years in improv.... 💯👍️️🥂 by HELLY STILETTO, High Priestess of Coffee and Wine; ; Report gosh, you're super versatile! this past year has been super tough for us stage lovers. i hope you've been hanging in there =] It has been! We never got to finish the last weekend of the show I was Stage Managing last March. We had to shut it all down. Do you do a lot of live theatre? What shows have you worked on? by HELLY STILETTO, High Priestess of Coffee and Wine; ; Report nooo that's such a bummer!! what show were you working on in march??? i'll never the one weekend that i found out everything that i was involved with or had plans to do with canceled. it was so heartbreaking!! the last show i did live back in feb. was sarah ruhl's Eurydice, i played a Stone which is a weird way to end things. i used to do a lot of live theater, i miss it. we've done zoom readings which arent the same and are hard for me to focus when i'm listening to them. do you have a fav. show youve worked on?? The Theatre group I do most of my shows with was doing a reprise of 'Pump Boys and Dinettes' that we'd done 20 years prior with almost the same cast - I stage-managed that production as well...The crazy thing is that the first time we did the show was during September of 2001 - 9/11 happened during our run. So we decided it might not be a good plan for us to ever do that show again! by HELLY STILETTO, High Priestess of Coffee and Wine; ; Report does your husband act as well!? that's so awesome! i've never seen picasso at the lapin agile but i really love the monologue (i just had to look up what character speaks it and it looks like it's germaine ? ) the end of it goes "Your whole act is a camouflage. But you are lucky because you have a true talent that you are too wise to abuse. And because of that, you will always be desirable. So when you wear out one woman, there will be another who wants to taste it, who wants to be next to someone like you. So you'll never have to earn a woman, and you'll never appreciate one" i love that so much. one of my favorite plays i was in is called "men on boats" an all female show. it was the most fun i've ever had on stage!! I remember that monologue! Germaine is the bartender in the Lapin Agile. Such great writing. I love Steve Martin. It was so cool to get to perform his work after being a fan since childhood! by HELLY STILETTO, High Priestess of Coffee and Wine; ; Report that's so awesome!!! i love theater couples!!! ..i dont really have a dream role but whenever we're safe to open up fully, i do want to help out more backstage since i have more experience onstage. for the next few months though i am helping with assistant directing for a local film we're making so that's a little new for me. what about you!? what's your dream role? I enjoy being in the booth for shows. I hope to do some more of that as well. Films are fun to work on!! What is the movie you're working on? Summer of 2019 my friend who is a teacher on movie sets and such asked me to help her on the set for a day in Middletown ohio (about 30 minutes from me) 'wrangling' (making sure the kids on the set were where they should be). It was for 'Hillbilly Elegy'. I got to watch Ron Howard and Glenn Close work up close...It was sooo cool. I wasn't allowed to engage with them but a couple of times I was standing right there as Glenn Close walked by after shooting a scene. She seemed very cool, so did Ron Howard. Very chill, calm director. I stood next to my friend as she spoke with Amy Adams a couple of times, too. When I was a kid I wanted to be in films. But I realized as I went along that I don't function well in the uncertainty of that kind of work and the chaotic schedules. I think I would have gotten eaten alive. Not by the people or industry so much as just the lack of consistent structure - I would have been in a crazy place mentally! So I decided on a more 'normal' life. by HELLY STILETTO, High Priestess of Coffee and Wine; ; Report And I forgot to answer your question - lol! One of my dream roles is Ms. Hannigan in Annie. LOL! Or Anne Sullivan in The Miracle Worker (I wanted to play Helen Keller when I was a kid but was too tall). I'm probably too old to play Sullivan now. by HELLY STILETTO, High Priestess of Coffee and Wine; ; Report |

OMG, THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I love yours too; I actually used to have a similar minimal, yet micro aesthetic for my actual MySpace profile right before the mass exodus to Facebook.
I'm a high school English teacher, so although I'm reading 24/7, I always have several that I'm reading for "fun" on my downtime.
As of right now, I'm reading: World of Wonders: In Praise of Fireflies, Whale Sharks, and other Astonishments by Aimee Nezhukumatathil, Midnight Sun by Stephanie Meyer (SEVERAL OF MY STUDENTS ARE ADAMANT THAT I READ THIS, so I promised them that I would), What We Don't Talk About When We Talk About Fat by Aubrey Gordon, A Promised Land by Barack Obama, and SOMEDAY I will finish Kochland: The Secret History of Koch Industries and Corporate Power in America by Christopher Leonard.
I've finished several books over my Winter Break, including Godshot by Chelsea Bieker, Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel, and Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia.
I liked Godshot, but just be forewarned if you haven't read it—it's draining. I ran through that book at a marathon pace. I was so absorbed in it that once I finished it, I felt absolutely W I N D E D. It's not for the faint of heart either! My favorite out of these three was Mexican Gothic, which has a Jane Eyre meets a horror mystery in 1950s Mexico vibe, but I thoroughly enjoyed Station Eleven too. There's an HBO Max adaptation of Station Eleven, so I might watch that within the next few days.
P.S. YES!!! Or technically I'm a double Taurus since it's my sun AND moon sign! 🖤

you are a little book worm omg. i want to be like you. (i hope you're okay right now in school, crazy times.) i love the promise to your kids on the stephanie meyer !!! so sweet. i'm about to make a little list of all the books just mentioned. and then way off topic i also loved The VVitch and would give my right arm to be in the woods with a camcorder hunting a witch in the 90s. i think youre really great, taurus friend. OH.. wait time-out i just realized your name is blair, hey blair

Yup, part of it comes with the profession, but I've full key always had several books going at the same time! Yes, but it's more of survival mode, last semester—and honestly the last three years—was very interesting to say the very least.
ME TOO ON BOTH OF THOSE THINGS!!! My cousins and I actually played a game when we were kids that we would literally call "Blair Witch." We would run around in the dark with a flashlight like we were actively looking for the Blair Witch, and what made it all the more realistic was that my grandparents (and all of us, tbh) lived within a close proximity to the woods!
Plus, it's all good. You can totally refer to me as Taurus Friend or Blair, lol!
