John Ernst's Interests
General |
|
Music |
I like a lot of music, hippie music from the 60s-70s, heavy metal, grunge, thrash, goth, punk rock, I like some hip-hop, too. |
Movies |
I love science fiction movies, I'm huge Star Wars geek, yes, even those Star Wars movies, I like a lot of the Marvel Universe, I used to get into horror movies when I was a kid, I still do, but not as much, I like a lot of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, Spielberg did a great job with Ready Player One, so he's still out there innovating. |
Television |
I don't watch a lot of current TV, but I did pick up DVD sets for Tales From the Darkside, the Friday the 13th series that came out when I was a kid that had nothing to do with Jason Vorhees, I also collected the Freddy's Nightmares Series for a Nightmare on Elm Steet on DVD when I found someone selling copies on Ebay. I also bought the DVDs for the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, which I haven't gotten through the first season yet, I remember when the show came out, it was much ballyhooed because they were always filming on location in historical landmarks. |
Books |
I love to read, Ludwig von Mises, Alisa Zinov'yevna Rosenbaum, F.A. Hayek, Thomas Paine, I just ordered my first hardcover copy of Frédéric Bastiat's the Law, I also ordered a William Blum book called America's Most Dangerous Export: Democracy, I love reading horror genera books, I would have to call myself a Steven King fan, some of his stories have really stuck with me, I also like George Orwell, Animal Farm and 1984 should still be required reading for schoolchildren. The list of books in my to be read pile is huge, I have Woodrow Wilson's, A new Freedom, which I would love to read. I have 2 full books with George Washington's writings, his letters he sent corresponding with other important American figures of the time, and if we're talking about books, I love some humor, and two of my favorite literary humorists are Mark Twain, and Douglas Adams, whose book, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy has alienated me from other people more than my politics ever could. |
Heroes |
Thomas Paine, Frédéric Bastiat, Adam Smith, John Locke, Alisa Zinov'yevna Rosenbaum, Robert Smalls, who stole a Confederate steamship from under the noses of Southern troops—and sailed the vessel all the way to Union territory during the American Civil War, Sir Alexander Fleming, who discovered penicillin, Dr. Maurice Hilleman, whose work has saved countless lives, Steven Pinker, and Ron Paul. |

I love, "Police stopped my car". It's one of my favorite twisted holiday tunes next to Walking in an Essex Wonderland.
