Music

My music taste is one of the things that reflects who I am the most. My favorite bands are Tame Impala, Linkin Park, and Glass Animals, each of them holding a special place in my life for different reasons. I have a deep appreciation for Tame Impala, especially the album Currents, which I consider a masterpiece. Out of all the songs, New Person, Same Old Mistakes is my favorite. I love its psychedelic atmosphere, immersive synthesizers, and the sense of transformation it conveys. It’s one of those songs I can listen to over and over again without ever getting tired of it. Linkin Park means a lot to me. Their music carries emotions, memories, and messages that always resonate with me in some way. That’s why I still can’t decide which song is truly my favorite. Every track has a special meaning and represents a different moment in my life, making it impossible for me to choose just one. Glass Animals is also one of my favorite bands. I love the way they blend alternative, electronic, and experimental sounds, creating music with a unique identity and an almost cinematic atmosphere. Although Crystal Castles isn’t one of my favorite bands, there’s one song by them that holds a special place in my heart: Vanished. The combination of electronic soundscapes, electropunk aesthetics, and the nostalgic feeling of the track makes it one of the songs I enjoy listening to the most. Overall, I’m drawn to music that creates its own atmosphere, combining melancholy, intensity, experimentation, and emotion. I appreciate artists who can transform feelings into sound and make every song feel like a unique experience rather than just something playing in the background.

Movies

Movies are one of my favorite ways to immerse myself in different worlds and explore a wide range of emotions. My favorite genre is crime and detective films, especially stories centered around investigations, complex mysteries, and morally ambiguous characters. I enjoy paying attention to every detail, coming up with my own theories, and trying to uncover the truth before the final reveal. I also love horror movies, especially those that rely more on a dark atmosphere, psychological tension, and a constant sense of unease rather than just jump scares. Gloomy settings, memorable soundtracks, and melancholic visuals always capture my attention. Fantasy holds a very special place in my interests as well. My favorite franchise is Harry Potter, a universe I deeply appreciate for the way it blends magic, friendship, mystery, and coming-of-age themes. Besides watching the movies countless times, I’ve also read every book in the series, and my favorite is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I especially love how it expands the wizarding world, introduces the Triwizard Tournament, develops the characters further, and marks the transition into a darker and more mature story. Overall, I find myself drawn to stories with mysterious and dark atmospheres, regardless of the genre. I enjoy films that explore the unknown, the complexity of the human mind, intelligent investigations, fantastical creatures, or supernatural events, always paired with a distinctive visual style and the feeling that there’s something hidden beneath the surface. More than simply watching a movie, I enjoy the experience of stepping into a different universe, noticing the smallest details, interpreting symbolism, and continuing to think about the story long after it’s over. That’s probably why my favorite stories are the ones that perfectly balance mystery, fantasy, and emotion, creating worlds that stay alive in my imagination long after the screen fades to black or I turn the last page. And maybe my favorite part of all is sharing that experience with the people I care about. Watching a movie together, exchanging theories, laughing, getting scared, or simply sitting in comfortable silence makes every story even more memorable. For me, the best films aren’t just the ones with the best plots, they’re the ones that become lasting memories because of the people I watched them with.

Television

One of my favorite series is The Mentalist. What draws me in the most is the way each case feels like a well-built puzzle, where everything depends on noticing small details and gradually putting the clues together. I really like how the show doesn’t focus only on the crime itself, but also on the behavior of the people involved. This makes everything more interesting, because it’s not just about figuring out “who did it,” but also understanding how and why it happened. Patrick Jane is one of the most striking aspects for me. He has a very different way of solving cases, based on observation and reading people, which makes everything feel more psychological and less obvious. What’s even more interesting is that he often breaks a few rules in the process, yet still manages to figure out who the culprit is in a way that feels almost unbelievable. This ends up making several situations kind of funny sometimes, because it seems like he always finds a way to “bend the system” and still end up being right in the end. Overall, The Mentalist stands out to me because it combines investigation, intelligence, and psychology in a very engaging way. It’s the kind of show that makes me want to pay attention to every detail and try to understand the story alongside the characters, without needing constant action or exaggeration.

Books

ooks are one of the most important parts of the way I experience stories, mainly because I like to feel inside the narrative, as if I were living it alongside the characters. Just like Harry Potter, which is one of my favorite franchises, I am drawn to well-built worlds full of detail, mystery, and character development over time. I have a very strong preference for crime novels, investigations, and suspense. I enjoy following clues, trying to solve the mystery before the ending, and getting lost in stories full of twists. This kind of interactive narrative, which makes you feel truly inside the story, mentally making decisions and following events as if they were real, is exactly what captivates me the most when reading. One of the best examples of this for me is the Good Girl’s Guide to Murder trilogy by Holly Jackson. It impressed me precisely because it turns this sense of active investigation into something very immersive, as if I were taking part in solving the case alongside the protagonist. I really like how the story combines investigation, mystery, and constant tension, while also having well-developed characters and a narrative that keeps my interest from beginning to end. I also love manga, especially Puella Magi Madoka Magica, a story that many people might look at and think it is cute and light because of its cover, but in reality it is dark, sad, and deeply emotional. It explores complex feelings, especially those of the main character Madoka, showing her doubts, fears, and the impact of the choices she has to face throughout the story. Within this universe, my favorite character is Homura Akemi. She is an extremely complex and intense character who goes through many attempts to change fate and save Madoka. Over time, she carries within herself an enormous weight of suffering, determination, and obsession with protecting someone she loves. Homura changes deeply throughout the story, which makes her an incredible and very human character, even within such a fantastical setting. She represents someone who, after so many attempts to save the person she loves, ends up carrying an enormous emotional burden, yet still continues to fight. She is a character defined by love, pain, and persistence, which makes her unforgettable. I also really enjoy sharing the stories I read with the people around me. I often end up talking about books, explaining theories, characters, and events, because it allows me to relive part of the experience and also build connections through stories. One of my favorite publishers is DarkSide Books, because I really like how they work with darker, more mysterious, and well-produced stories, always with a strong and striking visual identity, which matches perfectly the kind of narrative I am most drawn to.
