ty for adding me back, really liked ur blog on canadian Indigenous people. i’m looking forward to reading more if you ever post more + good luck on your journey. |
THANK YOUUUU, that genuinely means so much to me to feel seen and heard. I won't make promises about when, but I am really passionate about this topic so I am bound to write another blog on the topic eventually.

yes ofc ! ah it’s okay if you don’t post regularly or smth, so don’t feel pressured. i’m indigenous (i wont say from where haha) but most of my family’s culture was sadly taken away from them so i love to hear abt other indigenous people still have connections to their roots :)

I see that so much, especially in the states, it's hard because I know that's how settler colonialism wants it to be. I feel privileged to feel connected to my roots, a lot of Indigenous people seem to forget and get complacent about it especially the younger generation I'm noticing.

Yeah,,, it’s very unfortunate and often makes me feel sad. I become very wrapped up in preservation of culture that may not be outright indigenous when I go back home because no one record keeps anything. But, hopefully the younger gen. will grow into a more mature perspective as they age. We can only hope, at least.
(I’d love to keep talking btw, do you mind if I IM you?)
