ninjaslayer's Interests
General |
Cartoons. If I could cut up all the golden era Cartoon Network shows and all the works of Laika Studios with an AmEx black credit card on my mirror-topped coffee table and snort it up, I would. The Sims, Sims 2 specifically. I am also into video games in general, but because of hardware and budget limitations, my ability to play video games are restricted pretty much to Tetris and Stardew Valley for the Switch Lite, and whatever browser flash games I can find when the nostalgia strikes me (I was playing Papa Louie's the other day lol). Stories, Storytelling, and Media/Literary Analysis. Am currently trying to un-atrophy my reading muscle, but I have really strong literacy skills despite taking over a decade to read more than 50 pages of Dracula (-womp womp-). Love coming up with story ideas, and working/enjoying stuff across all sorts of mediums. This is obvs an extension of the whole writing thing, but just a bit more zoomed out. YouTube. lol, that feels kind of sad, but it's, like, MY social media of choice and has been for over- Holy shit, I've been using YouTube for literally 20 years............. bruh. People. Even if I don't fully understand them, I just think they tend to be pretty neat. Marine Biology (this one's a bit dormant, but the sea is a fascinating place). Tarot. If you want a reading, hmu. |
Music |
Open to all genres of music, you can call me polyjamorous. Some bands/artists I LOVE: Gorillaz, The Strokes, The Black Eyed Peas, Metronomy, Skinshape, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, Lady Gaga, IDKHOW, The Killers (more their older stuff though), The Black Keys (ugh, Turn Blue is actually one of my faves of all time.), Cage the Elephant, Lunachicks, METRIC, Joywave, Queens of the Stone Age, whoever made music for the Sims 2, etc. (god, this list is so white...) Genres I love to bump: Indie Rock, Pop (of many denominations, across pretty much all the decades), Disco, R'n'B, Rap, HipHop, House, Electronica (House, Eurodance, Techno, Phonk), Punk, Goth (yes, I know, superspecific), Classical (when I'm in the mood for it at least), long mixes on YouTube lmao Fr, I'm always up for discovering new music and introducing people to stuff, so if anyone wants to get a music exchange going, feel free to hmu. |
Movies |
In no particular order: Coraline, Monster House, Scooby Doo on Zombie Island, The Scooby Doo Movies (1+2), Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy's Big Picture Show, King of the Belgians, The Spongebob Squarepants Movie, Conclave, I Saw the TV Glow, Everything Everywhere All At Once, Turning Red, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Crimson Peak, Pacific Rim, The Lego Batman Movie, Suspiria (the new one), Kung Fu Panda (1+2), **Mad Max Fury Road**, Cars 2, Three Idiots, Rango, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Juno, Stardust, Lilo and Stitch, The Incredibles, Mulan (and fuck it, y'know what, I quite liked Mulan 2 too), But I'm a Cheerleader, The Addams Family Values (first one is great, but sequel is World Star), Casablanca, and more probably. These were just the ones I could think of off the top of my head, with a lil help from my Letterboxd log. If you're looking for randoms to add on Letterboxd, feel free: BarnabySee |
Television |
I have recently started watching Game of Thrones for the first time lmao. (fun fact, I actually watched the last two episodes when they aired cus all my uni friends were doing a watch party and even though I'd never seen it, I thought I'd join in for the fuck of it) Derry Girls, BBC's Merlin (still haven't finished it though, I never want it to end -sob-), Ed, Edd, 'n' Eddy, Chowder, Abbott Elementary, Delicious in Dungeon (<333), Better Call Saul, probably more that I'm forgetting lol |
Books |
Recently finished: Soledad's Sister by Jose Dalisay Currently reading: Magyk by Angie Sage The Reign of Greed by Jose Rizal Amusing Ourselves to Death by Neil Postman Comics (various) Books that changed me: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey After Dark by Haruki Murakami American Gods by Neil Gaiman (fuck Neil Gaiman though, UGH!!!) (I forget the full name of the book and the author's name, but this book for middle school aged kids called) Stuff! Tales of the Tropical Gothic by Nick Joaquin (anthology) |
Heroes |
Myself. And in no particular order: Sir David Attenborough, my primary school Music teacher, my GCSE/A-Level English and Media Studies teacher, my parents (to a certain extent), my high school librarians and high school guidance counselor, Daniel Howell, my uni screenwriting teacher, um... Literally anyone who cares about being a good person and persevering in the face of adversity. Folks who like to help each other without expecting a reward. Kind people. Those are the real heroes, frfr. |
