QuinnMossEcho's Interests
General |
The Fuel: Home-brewing coffee strong enough to power a revolt. It's the only way to function through the sheer idiocy of college life. The Escape: Whiskey that burns my throat on the way down. If I'm not feeling it, I'd rather not feel anything at all. The Therapy: Long, moody journaling sessions dedicated to documenting precisely how dumb the world is. It’s a necessary service, really. The Noise: When the words aren't enough, there's screaming. It's less a hobby and more a necessary pressure release. I like reading, playing video games, writing poetry, graphic designing, being a drink snob, and just living my 90s life. |
Music |
Music: The Soundtrack to a Breakdown I listen to records, not playlists. The hiss and crackle are more honest than anything streaming will ever give you. My ears are a collage of the 80s, the 90s, and the raw fury of the early 2000s. Top 8 (The ones I can tolerate this week): Alice in Chains: Because some days, you just need a soundtrack that feels like mud and Seattle rain. My Chemical Romance: It's not a phase. It's the only honest representation of teenage existential dread. (Three Cheers era, obviously). The Sundays: Melancholy jangle pop for when I'm watching the snow fall and thinking about the utter pointlessness of my college loans. Static and Silence is mandatory. Talking Heads: Art school anxiety and pure, post-punk neurosis. David Byrne gets it. Nirvana: The only true reaction to the corporate sludge of the 90s. The one that actually mattered. Blur / Oasis: I tolerate the Britpop rivalry because their arrogance is almost charming. Blur for the sardonic urban commentary, Oasis for the ridiculous anthems. R.E.M.: Pre-stadium R.E.M. The dark, artsy stuff. The one they can't play on the radio anymore. Green Day / blink-182: Fine, yes. Pop-punk is the perfect, quick hit of cheap nihilism when I need a break from actually thinking. Don't @ me. Current Profile Song: Currently sourcing something obscure and deeply dramatic. Check back later when I've finished wallowing. I'm Into: Grunge/Alt-Rock: The raw, angry stuff. The music of honest failure. 90s Indie: Anything recorded with too much reverb and a healthy disdain for pop structure. First-Wave Emo: The true, painful stuff—not the mall-goth garbage. Punk: Because the system deserves to be shouted at. Skip If You Like: Anything that peaked on TikTok, EDM, country music, and anyone who still talks about Hybrid Theory like it was a revolution. |

About me:
Real Name: Please don't ask. Gender: Trans male. Sexuality- Gay Occupation: College student at a dumb STEM school that's making me lose my mind. I'm here because I need an outlet for the constant, low-grade irritation that is the modern world. My primary goal in life is to live against the corporations that insist on making everything loud, bright, and stupid. I'm doing my part by collecting records—a physical, defiant 'no thanks' to their endless, soulless cloud storage. When I’m not online, I’m offline, which is just as irritating. I spend my time browsing blogs on SpaceHey, mostly looking for people who are just as moody as I am. I keep a steady supply of dark, bitter truths in my moody journaling sessions dedicated to documenting precisely how dumb the world is.

Who I'd like to meet:
I'm Looking For: Less Noise, More Sense If you’re here because you think the future is bright and technology will save us, please exit left. We have nothing to discuss. I'm only interested in people who: Keep It Real by realizing that the "modern world" is a deeply, profoundly stupid place. If your default setting is a low, sarcastic hum of discontent, we might get along. Acknowledge The Machine. You understand that the shiny new tech, the endless ads, and the corporate drone-speak are just different flavors of the same garbage. We can mutually resent the surveillance state.
Appreciate Catharsis. You get the urge to write a furious, moody journaling session about how utterly ridiculous everything is. Bonus points if you can deliver a deadpan observation that makes me question my faith in humanity even more. The Soundtrack: Your vinyl collection is a tribute to raw energy and a sense of alienation. You listen to Nirvana—the real Nirvana, not the radio edits—and bands with a similar sense of dirt, volume, and melody. Think Pixies, Mudhoney, Hole, or Melvins
The Comforts: You appreciate the simple, non-corporate luxuries: Good coffee (the kind you brew yourself, because you can't trust a mega-chain to get it right). Good whiskey (the kind that burns just enough to remind you you're still awake). Basically, I'm looking for the one other person in this whole social media mess who understands that true connection is built on shared interests.

Ah yeah, I remember watching those when I was in school. LOL.

Bridge to Terabithia lowkey traumatized me. Do you remember when they would roll the big TV in class on a cart?
by QuinnMossEcho; ; Report
Yeah, it was always a good day. LOL.
I still use CRTs often. I just held a club meeting at my university where we used one in a classroom to play on my Nintendo Gamecube!
