Which branch of philosophie peaks your interest most? For me it's gotta be either metaphysics or epistemologie |

omg such a cute profile(。>︿<)_θ |
Ohh, I really like epistemology, ethics and logic. They're all so interesting, but if I had to pick a favourite it'd probably be logic ^^

No no, I love these questions ٩(ˊᗜˋ )و! I like Aristotle, mainly for his hierarchy of being, which I feel was a good foundation defining the seven life processes in science. Also my favourite pre-socratics are Democritus, who lowkey was the first recorded to come up with the idea of atoms, and Parmenides (Just because I feel like he was such a rage baiter lolol ( ̄▽ ̄)ゞ). Do you have any favs?
AND TYY, yours layout is beyond pretty!! <3

Ohoohooo You've got good taste (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶) Stop I honestly love when philosphers are ragebaiters too hehhehe (๑˃́ꇴ˂̀๑) For me though, It'd be hmmm Heraclitus ! Mainly because he was the reason I got into philosophy, specifically his river metaphor " No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man." likeeeee It made me question everything and ugh! I’m also lowkey obsessed with Simone de Beauvoir, mainly for The Second Sex, which I feel was such a game-changer in showing how society tries to define women and how we get to define ourselves. And hmhmhmmhm whoo elseeee MY MIND IS BLANK NOW I CANT THINK NO MORE(╥﹏╥)

Aww tyty, I like your takes on these too ^^! Heraclitus interested me too at one point, I really liked his interpretation of fire being the source of all things as everything is constantly changing. That then contributed to the argument that nothing changes, which was an interesting one too (Even if it was kinda absurd lolol (. ¬ ﹏ ¬)). 'The Second Sex' is such an amazing break down on societal definitions of women and how they were denoted as the 'inferior'. I kinda suck w/ keeping up and remembering modern philosophers though (ᓀ ᓀ). I think my favourite modern topic rn is on free will and determinism!

Ooo speaking of stuff being absurd, I’ve actually been super into absurdism lately like Camus’ whole thing about life having no inherent meaning but us still needing to make sense of it? That honestly speaks to me so much, I might just… become one myself LOLL ( ̄▽ ̄)ゞ. It’s kinda wild when you think about it tbh like we’re all here, trying to find purpose, but the universe could literally not care at all. And omg speaking of free will and determinism, that topic is such a rabbit hole ( •̀ - •́ )like do we actually choose anything, or are we just following some chain of cause and effect? like aaaaa what’s your stance on it? (╭ರ_•́)
by ⚢ R0TTEZAI 🜏; ; Report
Oh the idea of absurdism is one that interested me for a while myself! It's such an interesting concept that human insignificance within the role of the universe shows that we have no rational meaning, one that I think is understandable. I'm kinda an optimistic person though, so even if the world is meaningless, I believe finding a meaning for your life gives the world meaning, even if it's only that way for you. Does that make sense (´~`;)? As for determinism, I think it's such a weak stance in the argument against free will (¬_¬). It's a metaphysical idea so I understand the lack of physical evidence and use of logical reasoning to deduce the idea. However, applying the idea of 'a long ago predetermined destiny' to small everyday decisions, like me typing this reply, is kinda weak. There's no strong argument for it either, saying the laws of nature apply to human reasoning and decision making on such a minor scale, isn't a great connection in my honest opinion; the theory itself feels like a bunch of unverifiable 'ifs' (ᓀ ᓀ). I get the idea, but I think it's a poor attempt at connection (But hey, maybe I'm just not fully grasping what they're saying, so no shade to them (╥﹏╥;) ). The main reason I take interest in the argument, is lowkey because i'm waiting to hear what I think is a valid take on it (_ _|||). If I did agree with determinism though, I'd be a compatibilist, the idea makes a lot more sense to me if one was to say 'The future is determined, but the actions in between are not'! Do you have any opinions on this (ˊᵕˋ)?
Sorry for the late (and kinda long) response btw! (¬﹏¬;)
