Top I've read are: IT, Phantom of the opera, Notre Dame the Paris, The Percy Jackson saga and a small place in my heart goes to Flatland... As for mangas: Pandora Hearts & The case study of Vanitas, Toilet bound Hanako-kun, Beastars

Heroes

Alex Hirsch, Vivziepop, The two people behind TBHK (shows that working in team can cover the other's weak points and I remember it left me flabbergasted knowing one was writing and the other was sketching), Jun Mochizuki, Neko and his team (very niche but it motivates me to believe projects like this are within my grasp and a good story can make something positive online)
