About me:
The Oklahoma Tomcat is a conservative Christian. He is a proud veteran of the US Navy, having served 10 years and traveling to over 7 countries. After his honorable discharge in 2000, he has been serving the communities where he lived through being a child advocate and volunteer work as a photography instructor at the Boys and Girls Club. He has co-hosted a Libertarian talk show, "Political T and T", and has been in the trucking industry as a driver, trainer, and safety instructor since 2000. He is now the founder, CEO, and driver of Bearden Steel Transportation LLC.
Oklahoma Tomcat is married to his favorite former co-driver from his years as a long-haul team driver. He and his wife have two children and live off-the-grid on a rural homestead. Together, he and his wife are advocates for living a simpler lifestyle and following the older generations' example of working hard for what you have without depending on government programs to bail you out. They homeschool their children, including their severely autistic son. Having an autistic child, they are advocates for families affected by autism.
Politically, Oklahoma Tomcat is a Libertarian. He believes that the government should follow the restrictions of power given within the Constitution. He believes that there is no such thing as a good man-made government. The only truly good government or leadership in our lives comes from the only true King, our Lord. The reason for this belief is based on human nature to be selfish and greedy. With these two character traits in the nature of man, all leadership can become corrupted by their own sense of power over those they lead. Unchecked by the bounds of the Constitution, the government can overrun the people and oppress them.
