SANKYUU ꉂ(˵˃ ᗜ ˂˵) It's true most vns are eroge, especially the late 90's/2000s ones, so it can be a bit tough finding sfw ones from that era X_X There are a lot of playstation ports from that time that were censored, unfortunately the vast majority of them are untranslated so if you're an english-only peasant like me you can either translate them in real time or stick to modern vns (╥﹏╥) I think ONE ~to the radiant season~ is a pc98 game that got an english sfw patch so maybe try that game out? ^^ If you like it I reccommend you check out other stuff from Key as well considering they pretty much went family friendly after CLANNAD and re-released a lot of their games with no h-scenes :3 I really like the pc98 games and aesthetic as well but I don't think I know a lot about the system itself so I'm excited to learn more about it!! (˶' ꒳ '˶)

Fortunately I have intermediate experience in japanese so I could practice by reading visual novels. I'll check out ONE, seems to be relatively short and good. I've only seen the Clannad anime because the VN is WAY TOO LONG how are they expecting me to pour 80+ hours into this? But I'm currently playing planetarian and it's very very good. I've investigated a bit about the PC98 and its hardware and it seems to be compatible with some primitive version of C, so writing a game wouldn't be too hard, the hard part would be coding things like the graphics and music. Its architecture is weird.
