FIRST RECS
hmmm maybe give a listen to the "greatest hits" thingy at first just to acknowledge the popular stuff... listen to Disintegration. the whole album is a MASTERPIECE opening track in particular!!! kiss me kiss me kiss me LP is nice but it's very flexile and miscellaneous with both having pop and alt songs on it, and you certainly need some nice headphones to fully hear how cool it is. might be a great first impression

you might like "the head on the door" and "wish" LPs as they've got some of cure's best songs and aren't too experimental... i suppose you'd like the "bloodflowers" album (maybe someday is one of my fav songs ever) but it was emotionally hard for me to finish listening to it for some reason
SOME INFO
there are some more albums but i think you shoud rather firstly listen to the ones mentioned above. if you like these and want to get more into the cure, go on and listen to whatever you can! ofc every album has good songs, but most of the releases that i haven't mentioned are pretty specific. from now on, im gonna give you some info on other stuff in case you wanna get more educated :-)
post punk
Seventeen seconds LP is a great one! Then there's Faith LP but it gets more desparate, "the funeral party" and "primary" are great examples of their early stuff
P0rn0graphy (album) is really heavy but it's BRILLIANT and you must fully listen to it at least once in your life. the deluxe version has one of my fav songs of theirs - "temptation two"
debut album
it's interesting, not quite post-punk, not quite alt rock, not quite new wave, uh.... a minimalistic punk-influenced stuff with great bass and young robert vocals? but it's cool, "jumping someone else's train", "grinding halt", "fire in cairo", "three imaginary boys", "winter" (on deluxe ver) and "play with me" (also on deluxe ver) are nice, it's pretty different from the rest of their music but it's worth it
others
"the top" is a bit quirky but fun. Robert's all screamy with his vocals here.
"wild mood swings" was partly experimental, i'd say... a lot of classic instruments and a lot of different drummers and mixing engineers haha
"4.13 dream" is alrigth but robert said it's overproduced. got some nice stuff but is probably better when your ear gets used to the cure's sound
the self titled (2004) got the same thing abt getting used to it. i like "alt.end"
"SOALW" is their latest one. it's marvelous! must listen
"mixed up" is... mixed up. a bunch of remixes!
and there are some live albums but i think you'll figure that out yourself
they've also got some SPLENDID b-sides (e.g. this twilight garden, 2 late, breathe, pill box tales...) but it's a looong convo, PLEASE ask me. PLEASE. PLEASE DON'T BE SHY IF YOU'RE INTERESTED ASK ME YOU WON'T REGRET IT AND I'LL BE ON CLOUD NINE FROM HAPPINESS
oh yeah also don't overlook the "japanese whispers" EP, you might like it, has some great tracks on it!
