Unknown Pseudoartist's Interests

General

Music, art, videogames, retro stuff, social justice, vegan cousine, walks in nature, etc.

In the past I was hard into web development, blogging and more web and computer based hobbies.

Music

Mostly metal, preferably combined with many diverse influences and interesting stuff. Also 90s / 16-bit soundtracks.

Btw I make my own music too! I don't have many years of experience and I'm not a professional and I don't aim to become rich or famous or anything. But you can check something if you want (just check the links in my profile).

Movies

Not much of a cinephile, but I have good memories from varied movies like Beetlejuice, Back to the Future, Neverending Story, Nightmare in Elm Street, etc.

Television

90s and 2000s shonen animes, including the biggest classics like Dragon Ball and Mazinger Z and not-so-classic ones like Bleach, One Piece and more.

Not much into real action shows and western stuff.

Books

Not wanna sound like a random ignorant, but honestly I was never too hard into books. Not the literature type, at least. While I truly appreciate the art and importance of books and what makes them special, I just don't think it's the only indicator of someone being an inteligent and learned person.

Unknown Pseudoartist's Blurbs

About me:

An eccentric artist who makes weird music and has an unusual concept for music videos, artworks and stuff. Always in nobody's land with many things.

Btw, I'm an adult and a real person. And there are some things you might want to read and check first before adding me.

Who I'd like to meet:

Nothing or nobody in particular. Just whatever comes out. Maybe just nice people, or people with similar interests and hobbies, or whatever.

hey, i checked up some of your music on youtube and i really like your video game music. It kinda inspires me lowkey to make music on a somewhat similar genre to that actually.

Hey, thanks a lot for taking the time to check my music! I'm glad to hear you liked and you even got some kind of inspiration after that. I totally encourage you to try whatever ideas you have in mind. Something especial about making arrangements of videogames music is that memories and emotions goes together in many levels at once: from listening to the music while playing the game and the times listening to the music only (if you are a VGM enthusiast who likes to listen to the music outside games) to now the memories you'll have in a future about the time and emotions while making your own music based in these.

It's so cool, really! I just wish the VGM scene weren't that toxic and elitistic, otherwise I'd invite you to join and hopefully get more inspired along with more people who shares that hobby.

Anyways... any link to somewhere to listen to your own music? Since I see nothing in your profile :P

Hey thanks! I appreciate a lot that you listened (and even liked) my music! Photos of nature tends to get very well reception on this site, but unfortunately can't say the same about music haha, so that means a lot to me when people comments on the music too. I heard the stuff you shared too, and nice stuff too! :)

thanks :D i love the guitar elements, and also some of the slower, more peaceful tracks in the albums you've put on youtube. videogame-related music really has a sweet sense of nostalgia for me that i get with yours as well, i don't know if that was the intention or not, but thanks either way!

Music from videogames (at least the late 80s and 90s stuff) definitively have a lot of that nostalgia feel! Although for me personally it's more like "I just like that stuff regardless of whatever time it was done in" haha. The melodies and the variety even with 8-bit chiptunes (although I'm more into the 16-bit and the SNES) is simply awesome, and I'd say that influenced me for the original compositions as well, as I try to focus on catchy melodies while also toying with ideas for baddass riffs and more stuff.

When it comes to my original compositions, however, guitars are always programmed (with the exception of a track for a community album I once did with 2 collabers). It sure feels great to be able to play an actual guitar, like you do :) but for now I don't have the patience haha and I have enough with the failed attempts to practice on a midi keyboard.

well it's indistinguishable from the physical instrument so i commend you for being able to do that lol. music production in pretty much all its forms it incredibly hard if you have a real specific idea so its always impressive to see people's finished products have such a level of detail and intricacy

Hey, thank YOU for the add! It's nice to see a fellow 90s kid who is also into code and art stuff with a bunch of disastrous WIPs lol. Lots of interesting stuff in your profile, and also funny avatar / profile pic. :)

by Unknown Pseudoartist; ; Report

Thanks lol. Do you have something you're currently working on?

by Mutant. 25+; ; Report

Funnily enough this got me while writing a post to show screenshots for some of these things, in this case for the videos for my music remixes lol. I added it to the blog too.

But yeah, lots of WIPs for practically all kinds of things. From more music tunes and videos to home remodelations and stuff that never ends. If we didn't need to eat everyday I'd probably procrastinate in the kitchen too lol.

I see you mention instruments like guitars and drums in your profile, so anywhere I can listen to your music, btw? I see no links to anywhere else and I'm curious. :D

by Unknown Pseudoartist; ; Report

I don't record any music, I just play for myself (and my neighbours sometimes).
There's a fee songs I never finished, but i don't think i ever will haha.
I'll be seeing your post soon

by Mutant. 25+; ; Report

Totatlly understandable! That's the purest way to make art and creative stuff, in fact, since it's just having fun and you being the only one who enjoy it, no audience or external opinions contaminating anything. I wish I could do closer to that too, but my situation with my "career" in music is quite unusual and I went throughout some cyber-bullying experience that conditioned many things in ways I'm not proud of, and still pending to get rid of that bullshit.

In any case, just had to comment that because I don't see many drummers out there haha. It's that instrument we all are used to simply program with clicks (or sloppily play with keys), but the real acoustic drumkit is a totally different thing that I think it don't get valuated enough. Congrats for that, and for having enough space to keep it haha.

by Unknown Pseudoartist; ; Report

I'm lucky to have electric drums lol
I don't think I'd ever want an acoustic kit, this is loud enough

by Mutant. 25+; ; Report

Well, that's still pretty interesting haha. And nowadays even a generic soundfont drumkit is good enough, it won't sound like scrap at all. :)

Hey! Thanks for the add, and for listening! You mentioned a track that is probably the most simple and generic thing I wrote lol, but glad you liked. I have pending to check your own stuff too, but can't listen to anything at the moment. I love experimental stuff tho, and you are selling it well in your description, so I have good expectations. :)

by Unknown Pseudoartist; ; Report

I'll check out some more in the future, that was just the first thing that jumped out at me lol. Dope, we have a bunch of weird stuff and just finished a kinda alternative folk album so I'm sure there will be somethin you find amusing lol

by SLIM GRIMS; ; Report

Hey, I've been listening a bit to your music today (also subbed to your channel). Nice stuff! Minimalistic but spooky and pleasant to listen. Sometimes all that is needed is an acoustic instrument and a voice or two, no need to sature with thousands of things at once. I'll keep checking more in the next days.

Do you plan to upload the album in more places beyond Youtube? Bandcamp would be especially convenient so anyone could download without DRM. I'm that kind of person who listens to music in an old mp3 device while doing chores and stuff around and not so much into streaming haha.

by Unknown Pseudoartist; ; Report

Thank you, appreciate it. That was definitely what we were going for with this album. Sort of have an idea for the next, but we'll see where it goes in time.

Not sure, we've only used youtube and soundcloud. Never know where people actually organically find and listen to music. Completely understand, may offer downloads at some point, hard when sometimes you'd rather throw around cds haha

by SLIM GRIMS; ; Report

Yeah, with the ubiquity of algorithms it's quite rare to get the right people to listen and for that happening naturally when we are small artists doing stuff that is not what sells the best, unfortunately. I miss niches so much... which is one of the main reasons why I tried luck with Spacehey, honestly. Just going for the adventure and connecting with fellow folks who are into all kinds of interests, doing stuff for fun and enjoying things without that necessarily being the trendy stuff of the moment, or whatever. Pretty much like how the internet was in the 2000s haha.

And yeah, unfortunately there aren't many people interested to download music nowadays. Which is quite ironic in contrast with how the major labels and mainstream artists used to be obsessed against piracy before haha. But with the enshitification of Youtube and streaming platforms in general, and especially all the shit with Spotify and the proliferation of AI, etc... I can predict a near future where non-DRM downloads may have a bigger weight again. Not because piracy or anything, but just to have the control about the music we acquire and where we can listen to it, rather than relying on a few corporations where everyone puts their stuff. There are many people who are just getting tired of all that and looking for alternatives.

Audio CDs are nice too, and I still occasionally buy them, even if jst to support my favorite artists, and for obscure stuff that can't be found in other ways. But as an artist it can be quite expensive and risky to fabricate many copies that might not be sold, and on-demand services might just not be the appropriate for everyone when you think of selling to the internet, since shipping costs could cost like double or triple the CD haha.

So I think downloads are a very convenient method that once again I expect to have a revival eventually. It's also the reason why I have a website to put my music in and add info about all tracks individually and more, since it's a more organized way to keep all our stuff without potentially getting lost in the so-called "social media" and all that.

Anyways, good luck with whatever ways you go for in your music and art project! :)

by Unknown Pseudoartist; ; Report

Definitely difficult to be found organically. Even places like here are seldom that helpful, whether it be for findin people to share your music to or just people to talk to. They might feel that it's similar to myspace but it is not in so many ways. A large part of that being the ways people interact on here, but I digress.

It is fairly funny, guess just assumed people were already downloading everything whether or not the option was available to them through whatever source; being as that's what people used to do. But I suppose that takes to much time/thought for a lot of the people online right now lol. Honestly, we always think that youtube could be, in theory, taken over if people just used it correctly. It would take some time, and some very deliberate watching/tagging, but we feel that the smaller channels could be the "norm" more if they tried. At least, that's the simplified way of saying our opinion on it haha.

At this point though, would say even assuming anyone will one day "make it" with music is just unrealistic and, dare I say, shouldn't even be the point. The concept of making music being your only source of income is...muddy. Music is art, and art should be loved for the art/for the process.
When it comes to cd's, I just meant buying a bunch of blanks, burnin em, writin some shit on em in sharpie and just throwin em around. It would be cool if people wanted to buy shit, but would rather just put cds in random places for the hope people listen, and like it without carin about loss of funds to make em.

good luck to you as well

by SLIM GRIMS; ; Report

Oh heck, the idea of burning some CDs to spread in random places was totally unexpected, since it sounds like a thing from other times, but heck... precisely because of that I love the idea so much! I'll probably try that sometime.

And yeah, definitively better not to even think of the plan of making a living of music. Nowadays only the mainstream, superpopular artists can do, and still it's not uncommon for some of the very popular ones in the national scene to actually struggle, or maybe making a living of other music things unrelated to their own band or project (ie: recording/producing for other artists in their studio, working as session musicians for whoever hires them, teaching lessons, etc).

It'd be cool to get the bread with an activity you really enjoy, but yeah, it's sooo easy to mix things and even if that were possible maybe then music and art might eventually become more like that boring and tedious job we all hate. In fact that was pretty much my own experience with programming/code, websites, computers stuff in general and I'm happier out of that now.

The weirdest for me is that while some people donates money in my Bandcamp (even when it's all free) stats are a joke. I wish people gave more ears and less money lol. Because the point is on having fun and hopefully bringing others fun.

by Unknown Pseudoartist; ; Report

Most definitely should, we all should, it's probably the best way to spread the art.

agree, agree *nods head*
