Hi! I'm going through my friends list trying to get a little bit of rock and metal into everyone's tastes and/or add to the bands they already listen to.

For you, well you *might* like the band called "Bloodywood." They're Indian folk numetal. Frankly, I think it's an offchance though.

Since you're also into nerd parody bands, I do also have a few of those to recommend. First and foremost, basically a staple of nerd metal: Rhapsody of Fire, especially their first five albums. Also: Gloryhammer, Alestorm, and Wizardthrone. Gloryhammer and Alestorm were formed by Christopher Bowes, and that guy also does the synthesizer in Wizardthrone. Alestorm and Gloryhammer also debatably fall into parody territory.

And if you enjoy Alestorm, also check out Rumahoy, which is itself a parody of Alestorm, so it's sorta like a parody of a parody

I do like Alestorm =)

I'll give that band a shot; if you like metal from various countries you might want to check out the Hu, if you haven't already. They are Mongolian metal and they use Mongolian throat signing.

Another pretty great nerd band is Cybertronic Spree. They do covers of classic rock dressed as Transformers characters from the 80's.
