Wiggnorant Poser's Blurbs
About me:
OMG after 15 years they returned. GOATED metalcore band!
Who I'd like to meet:
Those who feel so lost they barely know themselves, the ones buried beneath hopelessness, those who feel frail from bearing the weight of the world, and those plagued by lowliness and a heavy heart.

Thanks for adding me! |
Thanks for accepting! I noticed we have a lot in common too. What are some of your favorite movies or music that might not be on your profile? I always like to check out new stuff. By the way, I love your profile layout! It’s super cool and not too convoluted. I’m trying to step up my game too but have no idea where to start. Any tips or inspiration you’d recommend for profile layouts?

Well, I like the old stuff... Ministry, Pantera, SOAD. The modern music world and exposure being what it is, I don't get into groups like I used to but I like individual songs that I bump into randomly. Right now I just closed the song 'Miami' by Against Me.

Sorry, I don't think you can do hyperlinks here
I'll check my bookmarks for more stuff...
Bland Street Bloom by Sikth.
Dig by Mudvayne
Everyone Alive by Local H
Gimme Chocolate by BabyMetal which it's a bit silly but I love the creativity that Babymetal showed.
Maybe I wasn't entirely truthful. My leanings are a bit slower than yours but faster than most. I really like grunge too.
Movies I think you'll like off the top of my head - Inception (I used to be very much into lucid dreaming and want to get back into it), Trainspotting, Audition if you want horror - it's slow moving and low tech, but I don't know.. I like it. And Burn after Reading if you want comedy. Everyone I know hates Burn After Reading but me, but given what you like, I don't know.. it might hit with you.
For the profile, I think there was a list of profile templates somewhere and I chose one I liked. So the central part of my profile was off a template and I liked the general aesthetic but it used bats as cursors and stuff and I didn't like that, so I modified those things. The background I made myself with Midjourney. I wanted to capture something that went with the kind of dreamlike song I'm using, my pic, and the color my main segment had.
So I'd roll with a general template that I liked, that had the right colors, placements and feel, then modify the small things to match what you're trying to do personally. The other stuff is easy enough - the backgrounds doesn't have to have detail so even a free AI image generator like Craiyon should be good.
I don't remember the actual code I put in but it's really easy to learn. You can just look at the code and go, "Yeah, OK, this is what I need to change".
I'm old enough to be on the original myspace and I can kinda remember geocities, and people could do what they wanted and tried to fit every idea in their head in there, and it was too much. I tried to fight that urge and go with a consistent theme.
I wasn't sure my profile would fit in since everyone seems to be doing anime of some type but it's gotten good feedback.
I think your profile is fine though. I wouldn't feel off about it if you don't have time to mess with it.
Sorry about the length. I used to work as a writer and just go bananas when I type sometimes. :(

Oh, you'll like Reservoir Dogs if you liked Pulp Fiction. It's not as good imo but the same sort of tone.

I’m a fan of SOAD and Pantera as well. SOAD is one of those bands that by all logic shouldn’t even exist. They blend so many elements that typically wouldn’t fit together but somehow they make it work in such an original and seamless way. It’s that unpredictability and raw creativity that sets them apart. I’m also into bands like Breaking Benjamin, Billy Talent, early Rise Against, Starset, and Slipknot, not only brutal genres like death metal or hardcore punk. There was definitely something special about that late '90s and early '00s music era.. it felt raw, soulful, and unfiltered unlike the more polished, overproduced albums we see today. As for Babymetal, I was never really into them at first, but their latest album, "The One", actually changed my mind. My favorite track from that album is "Monochrome".
I also have a soft spot for grunge like Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains are some of my favorites.
Inception is honestly one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. I remember watching it in the cinema and being completely blown away. It lingered in my mind for days. Trainspotting was another great one, the ending was heartbreaking but incredibly real and impactful. I don’t think I’ll ever be tempted to try drugs after watching that! Requiem for a Dream is another fantastic movie with a similar theme. That era was truly a golden age for thought-provoking films, not like the "fast-food" movies we often see today. I enjoy Marvel movies to an extent, but they’ve really overshadowed more intricate and meaningful genres.
I’ll keep experimenting with new profile templates. If 14 year old kis can create awesome profiles, I should be able to manage it too, right?
By the way, I think it would be amazing if the site leaned more into music, like the original Myspace, with features like music charts, song recommendations, and dedicated band pages. It could really boost user growth, giving bands a bigger incentive to create profiles and share their music. There’d be so much more to explore, and niche scenes and subcultures could make this their go-to place for sharing music and exchanging opinions. I also really appreciate that there’s no 'like' feature here. It makes interactions feel more genuine since you have to actually engage and comment instead of just throwing around meaningless likes while scrolling through a timeline. This kind of conversation would never happen on Facebook. Instead, one of us would make a post and the other would simply "like" it and move on. It doesn’t do much for us as individuals, aside from maybe giving a brief dopamine rush.. "yay, a like" which is exactly the formula that super-commercialized social media platforms like Facebook rely on.
Oh and I loved Reservoir Dogs too! Honestly I think I’ve enjoyed every Tarantino film I’ve seen so far haha!
