my favorite movie is its such a beautiful day by don hertzfeldt, second only to eraserhead, my letterboxd is @pierisrapae for other stuff because i do watch a LOT of movies

Television

currently watching seinfeld for the first time

other than that a few classics are star trek (my fav series is ds9 for obvious reasons- its the best series, this nobody can deny, but deep down my secret favorite series is voyager because i hate being happy or satisfied with anything, fortunately robert picardo makes it all worth it)

the sopranos is also one that rules, paulie walnuts was meant to be a lapdog

recently for animation scavengers reign has been a standout favorite, genuinely obsessed with their respect for xenobiology and levi's journey to sentience

Books

favorite book has been hitchhikers guide to the galaxy since i was like 11 the whole series rules and i love a book that has fun with the "anything can happen because i said so" element of fiction. 

other than that for prose i really love house of leaves and am currently making my way through the left hand of darkness by ursula k le guin

my main book situation for a long time however has been almost exclusively comic collections and graphic novels, favorite authors are simon hanselmann, chris ware, SOMETIMES daniel clowes, lynda barry, alan moore, art spiegelman, alison bechdel, and nick drasno

i also like yotsuba, azumanga daioh, oyasumi punpun, and dead dead demons dedededestruction as well as (of course) anything by junji ito or osamu tezuka

i reallyreallyreally want to get my hands on more editions of short collections like MOME, RAW, ACME Novelty Library, and EightBall.

other similar stuff would be the big book of hell, or the frank book

for sunday funnies-type comics i love the far side, calvin and hobbes, nancy, rose is rose, and garfield (particularly the 80s run in his peak before becoming bipedal). i also spent a lot of time as a young child reading bloom county which did something very specific to me but im not sure what that is just yet.

i also really enjoy independent zines where i can find them but havent been to many places that have those recently. if you have any recommendations please feel free to toss a couple my way and i'll snap them up in an INSTANT i always love more stuff to read

rusty brown by chris ware is a lifechanging read please get yourself a copy immediately. i know that chris ware is RIDICULOUSLY overhyped but it's all true. it's all true and im not afraid to say it. he's a madman with those panels

for webcomics i really enjoy 17776, achewood (excluding the first few years. yikes), and crawfishcomics on tumblr. homestuck is alright but between you and me as someone who was there as it was unfolding it was a kind of "you had to be there" situation and doesn't hold up very well when you're not an autistic 12 year old in middle school in the year 2012. that said, it left a permanent imprint on my personality
