Maxximum_Panic's Interests

General	I love history, and I have a particular interest in the mid-century/modern pop culture history as well as medieval history. I studied Middle English in university and love Chaucer, and also Shakespeare (yes I know he's EME not ME). I'm also interested in language and linguistics in general. I'm sort of learning Italian thru Duolingo, have been for three years now. Studied French in school, and have a smattering of knowledge of Spanish. I'd love to get around to learning Finnish or perhaps even something like Korean or Japanese to step away from the Romance languages. Maybe Arabic? Honestly, I just wish I could be a proper polyglot.
Music	I love a ton of different music, but you'll mainly see me listening to: The Doors, Talking Heads, Oingo Boingo, Queen, Frank Sinatra, Duran Duran, Rina Sawayama, Sade, and many more !
Movies	I'll hit you with my Letterboxd top four real quick Army of Darkness (1992), The Man From UNCLE (2015), The Gay Deceivers (1969), and Metropolis (1927). Other than that, I love the first 3 Phases of the MCU, Monty Python movies, film noir, spy movies, and 70s-80s sci-fi. Been getting more into 70s action flicks/exploitation films so if you have any good recs let me know!
Television	LOST is my favorite show of all time and I would absolutely go feral if I ever got to meet Josh Holloway or Henry Ian Cusick xx I was, regrettably, a SuperWhoLock. So that means I love: Supernatural, Doctor Who, Sherlock, and also Hannibal. Because Hannibal was the secret addition to that list. Twin Peaks, X-Files, and Bones almost convinced me to join the FBI Other favorites: Columbo (<3), Miami Vice, The Man From UNCLE, The Prisoner, Star Trek: Enterprise, Stargate: SG1, Lucifer Don't know if this counts here but I am an unapologetic SNL guy. Love SNL. Will quote the Californians and Stefon at any opportunity.
Books	Currently reading: Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein Reading next: Redshirts by John Scalzi Favorite Book: High Rise by J. G. Ballard Favorite children's book series: The Tripod Trilogy by John Christopher Books I collect: Tom Swift Jr.
Heroes	Fallout & Elder Scrolls (specifically FNV and Skyrim), Dragon Age, Stardew Valley, The Outer Worlds (NOT Outer Wilds), No Man's Sky, Chants of Sennaar, and Bloodborne (I haven't played it but I love the lore)

Hiya! I'm Maxxy (he/him) and have been a netizen since roughly 2007. My heart is filled with nostalgia for World of Warcraft, DeviantArt, WCRPG (iykyk), early Tumblr, and Fanfiction.net. I'm 23 years old, currently based in Los Angeles, and I'm a writer by trade (though a bartender in practice). Into all kinds of nerdy things, especially retro and vintage stuff!
