Music

~ Sade (shaw day) ~ Nine Inch Nails ~

Movies

IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER, just know they are all varying degrees of perfect along with having obviously stronger areas of great film-making elements than the others picked. -FIRST CATEGORY- ~ Videodrome ~ Nosferatu (2024) ~ No Country for Old Men ~ The Craft ~ Dead Poets Society ~ Beetlejuice ~ Fantastic Mr.Fox ~ Alien ~ Secretary (2002) ~ One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest ~ A Clockwork Orange ~ The Crow ~ Unbreakable (M. Night Shamalyan sucks at writing dialogue and has just gotten worse, but this is honestly his best fucking movie and he did a way better job at unfolding the story and showing rather than telling. He has a habit of heavily relying on exposition-splaining plot points which defeat a lot of the purpose of visual storytelling when over and improperly used) ~ Being John Malkovich (Charlie Kaufmann just writes some eccentric trips for scripts) ~ Mother! ~ 12 Angry Men (either version, both did it well) ~ O Brother, Where Art Thou? ~ Black Swan (I love perfection obsession based movies) ~ Whiplash ~ The Prestige ~ Amadeus (goofy and compelling and the whole movie felt like I was watching the play which was enjoyable whilst wildly inaccurate) ~ The Truman Show ~ In the Mood for Love ~ Everything Everywhere All at Once (perfection almost) ~ Past Lives ~ Irreversible ~ Tar (honestly movie is fine, I think it is good filmmaking, there were parts of the plot that were rushed unnecessarily and with such a slow paced tension filled film, I would've loved to see more of the fucked upness of the main character. There's a lot to like in this movie, I'm just being picky) ~ Sex, Lies and Videotape (one of the best movies made) ~ Filth (2013) ~ Emergency (2022) (P Good) - SECOND CATEGORY - Personal Interest that scratch an itch of mine, meaning movie reflects a particular aesthetic or admiration of mine for an aspect of the movie (also means they are for the most part arent very good): ~ A Rainy Day in New York (Timothee Chalamet and the geeky nature of the two main characters) ~ Challengers (You know why) ~ Little Women (2019 or whatever, I liked it) ~ Poor Things ~ Heathers ~ Go ~ Serial Mom ~ Election (1999) ~ Teeth ~ High Fidelity ~ School of Rock ~ Detention (2011) ~ Loser (2000) (Mena Suvari and Jason Biggs are cute af in this) ~ Coming Soon (1999) ~ Shortbus (2001) ~ Coherence (2011) ~ Running with Scissors ~ The Squid and the Whale ~

Television

~ Better Call Saul (subsequently, Breaking Bad. The universe itself although this particular show is as close as we'll get to perfect teevee) ~ Sex and the City (they DO NOT pass the Bechdel test. Shame. But it's funny and I am attracted to the womanly rumination over men, as bland as it is.) ~ It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (one of the best comedic shows put to the at-home screen. Actually hilarious. Danny DeVito reaches iconic stature) ~ That 70's Show (best sitcom ever put on TV, chemistry between cast felt like watching a for real friend group along with the niche references to the time that aren't contrived) ~ Only Murders in the Building (cute, i just really like martin short and show is tied to one on one time with my parents) ~ Even Stevens (great early sitcom of Disney, arguably the best they ever put out) ~ The Suite Life on Deck (also great Disney sitcom, one of the best and honestly pretty funny) ~ Adventure Time (perfect cartoon that grew in its storylines and characters and evolved over time from the mere goofy kid shticks it once was) ~ iCarly (at times way too goofy and a biiit cringe, but it's great Nick TV, weird and funny, all in all a good time) ~ Beef (hits a niche thing for me, not objectively good, but premise was interesting and I like watching devolvement of shitty characters) ~ Fleabag (hilarious and great comedic writing) ~ Buffy the Vampire Slayer (season 2 and 3 are so damn good, not to mention season 5's The Body...) ~ My So Called Life (good for angsty middle class teens yk)

Books

~ Prozac Nation (deep cut) ~ The Aeneid (greek soap opera) ~ Leviathan (human nature nutshell) ~ Types of Value Destruction (genius breakdown, hard to grasp. Treat reading this as though you had to complete an in-depth analysis for a writing assignment) ~ Peace, Love and Baby Ducks (suuuch a classic for 13 year old first world babies) ~ Insecure in Love (blandishment for try-harding relationships)
