• I tend to lean towards nonfiction and "academic" stuff (quotes because I'm not reading lab reports or anything; it's more so just stuff like a psychologist explaining how the brain works in baby terms)
• I'm a sucker for any books with unconventional formatting/characters/narrators (this is me unsubtly asking for recommendations)
• You know those short stories you’d read in English class? Yeah, I like them (ex: The Lottery, I Stand Here Ironing, Hills Like White Elephants, etc.)
• It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini is a book I'll keep close to my heart obviously for personal reasons. I can't say much for the middle and end, but the beginning really did a great job of showing someone's experience with depression/suicide in a humorous (but still serious) way imo
