It's so cool that you have an interest in languages, I am the same and I really nerd out about different language families and compare the languages between them such as Germanic, Romance and Slavic languages, it's interesting to find similarities and differences within each of the language families! :) Yo, same Im also a nerd about different language familias. I also often compare languages i know Like italian with portuguese. Thanks, you seem like a cool person too! I love the way the Romance languages sound, they're so melodious. And I'm also interested in Romanian, I feel it is a very underrated language and sort of the oddball among the Romance languages although it's easy to hear that it belongs to that family from the way it sounds and the many cognates it shares with other Romance languages, despite also having a strong Slavic influence. I also like how English is a Germanic language, with many cognates to others in the family, f.ex. my native language Norwegian. English does also have a lot of French loanwords and also from Greek and a few other languages but the core basis of English is still Germanic. I would typically bore most people to death babbling away about this stuff haha, so it's really cool to find people like you that I can share this common interest in languages! :) |
