About me:
I am an American university student finishing up my Bachelors in History and Art History. I intend to go to graduate school and become a historian in the areas of social and cultural history. Until the age of 18, I believed I was destined to become an artist because I was a child art prodigy. I have a twin brother who has always been seen as my smarter counterpart. He goes to an Ivy League university, and I go to my in-state mid-tier public university.
This is because I was born with several mental conditions, including dyscalculia... my nemesis. As a toddler, I was put into intense behavioral therapy and special education courses, which heavily shaped my self-image. I was never told I had these mental disorders until I was in high school. I went without treatment for severe anxiety— and developed a heart condition in college as a result. I continue to wait years for treatment. I identify as disabled, and would love to hear experiences from other disabled people on here.
I have been a tomboy since day one, and now identify as a butch lesbian. This was very influential on my life experience, and these circumstances have made me into a somewhat socially isolated person (once again, I would love friend requests from former/current tomboys, butches, mascs, etc). I try to make up for this shortcoming by learning about the human experience, and becoming involved with activism. I experience a lot of joy through watching movies, reading, and playing video games with my friends. I live in a rural area in New England. I have a girlfriend, a beautiful dog, and my brother is my best friend.
Who I'd like to meet:
Anybody really. I get along with most people. If I unfriend you or don’t accept your request, it’s probably because you post too many bulletins, don’t have any shared interests, or are younger than I’m comfortable with.
