Altered Addiction are a 2-piece band from Campbellsburg, KY, who bring together a mixture of blues, rockabilly and punk rock. Their sound and style is diverse, bringing a very full sound to the table. They have a very strong DIY ethic and have been a regular on the local music scene. They have opened for many major national acts such as The Reverend Horton Heat, Deniz Tek, Dax Riggs, Wayne "The Train" Hancock, Joe Buck, The Murder Junkies, Reagan Youth, etc. as well as other touring acts such as Shivering Timbers, The Jam Messengers, Ghost Mice, The Living Deads and many more. |

With attitude and dedication this band has morphed into a a versatile unit from crowd pleasing vocal harmonization's to the heavy in your face guitar riffs. Also as of 2011 Michael King and Matt Crowley have also started a Two Piece Acoustic Guitar Cover Act under the title Altered Addiction as well. Music Ranging from Top 40's hits to the early grunge of Rock -N- Roll. From the two piece acoustic guitar act to the full band this is one band that you will not easily forget. |

About me:
Altered Addiction is an American skate rock band from Louisville, KY. Fronted by lead singer Michael Cash, the band formed in 2007 as Karma and Effect and was also known as Altered State before adopting the name Altered Addiction in 2008. The band is known for its profane and humorous lyrics, and for parodying the stereotypical Emo lifestyle. Altered Addiction formed in 2007, and their debut studio EP, Suicide, was released in 2009 to moderate commercial success. The band rose to prominence with the release of their second EP, Make Believe, in 2014. The EP peaked at number three on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, and topped Billboard's Top Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums charts. It spawned their biggest hit singles to date: "Will You?" featuring Ryan Shuck, "Make Believe" and "Broken Promises", all of which reached the top 20 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 with "Make Believe" peaking at number one. At the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, they won the award for Song of the Year for their song "Make Believe"; they also won the award for Best New Artist. In February 2008, Michael Cash's former band 13th Step split up. Immediately afterwards, Michael Cash asked Matt Crowley and Steve Mings to join his new project. Mings had toured with NEVER OCTOBER and provided various instrumentation, and Cash met Crowley after 13th Step toured with Jefferson Tarc Bus. The three began working together in Portland, Louisville within a week. Cash sang melodies while the other two provided music for them. The first demo song the band recorded was "ASHLEY", which was made available free in Spin's August 20, 2008 article on the band. In November 2008, Altered Addiction embarked on their first tour opening for Jack's Mannequin. Their first show was played in Denver, Colorado on November 5, 2008. A couple of early demos and covers from other bands were performed. Altered Addiction then approached Josh Burkhart, who produced 13th Step's album Be Kind with Cash, to produce their debut EP. Burkhart was enthusiastic about the project and stated, "I can't believe what we're working on here. This crushes anything I've ever done." They played on the Take Action Tour presented by Hot Topic with Mayday Parade, There for Tomorrow, Stereo Skyline, and We the Kings in early 2010. In spring 2010, Altered Addiction toured with Motion City Soundtrack, Sing It Loud, and Fun. They also opened for Hanson on select dates on Hanson's Shout It Out! Tour. They were second on the bill next to All Time Low, Before You Exit, and City (Comma) State on All Time Low's My Small Package Tour in October 2010. On July 28, 2013, the band announced on its Facebook page and their official website that they were not splitting up, but were taking some time off to pursue other projects: In early 2014, the band's official website announced tour dates with a lineup consisting of Michael Cash, Matt Crowley, Joe Kelly, Dwight Cummins, and Dujan Burton. With the proclamation "Ladies and Gentlemen...They're Back," the band performed concert dates throughout the U.S. and Canada in the spring and summer of 2014 and through 2015. Altered Addiction regularly plays live. Recent festival gigs include Garvin Gate Blues Festival (2018 and 2024), Jeffersontown Gaslight Festival, Kentucky Reggae Festival, Abbey Road On the River, and many club shows, etc.
