zandertee's Interests

General

I’m perpetually nostalgic! I enjoy all things computer and technology related. I'm a big sucker for retro computer technology, and can geek out about legacy hardware and software. Would love to meet other people who are passionate about the history of computing technology!

Currently, I'm diving into all things Apple, including macOS. I have a retro Mac Pro "cheese grater" tower that runs several old (but still functional!) versions of OS X.

As for my favorite operating system, I'd have to say Microsoft's Windows XP Media Center Edition (2005) because the themes and taskbar dancers were legendary!! Nothing has ever come close to the elegance and creativity of this operating system.

Music

Usually I listen to the same 12 songs on Spotify over and over, but recently I'm listening to a 2000's Hits playlist 8-)

Movies

I'm currently binge-watching the Harry Potter series! My favorite film in the series is The Prisoner of Azkaban - Hermoine's time traveling was fascinating.

Television

I don't watch much TV, but I'm currently watching The Umbrella Academy on Netflix. Such a creative show!

Books

Ermahgerd, Gersberms! Mer fevorite berks! Haha I also plan to read the full Harry Potter series, I don't care how "juvenile" they are, I appreciate any book that can whisk me away to a fantasy land.

Heroes

Old Gregg!

I’m a nostalgic technology fan too. I mean I kind of suck at using computers sometimes but when I was younger I always loved being on the computer especially in the XP days. Lol I always ended up getting viruses on my moms old computer because I used softonic , cnet and filehippo for downloading hahaha those were the good days.

I have such fond memories of downloading "songs" with filenames like "Complicated_Avril_Lavigne.mp3.exe" from LimeWire and infecting the family computer lololol good times

Yes the limewire days. When you would download a song and just get Rickrolled instead or get bill Clinton saying I did not have sexual relations with that woman miss lewinsky.

Thanks for the friend request! I love long naps too, they're the best! :)

I just had a long nap and I feel so much more tired fml.

by Frenkli; ; Report

I always nap for 20 minutes because I've read that that's the ideal length for napping and waking up wish a refreshed mind. Supposedly, napping for longer than that will lead to drowsiness and lacking ability to focus. So my usual 20 minutes of napping have not caused that, luckily :)

Hey hey, Didrick! Thanks for accepting my request. Naps are proven to boost productivity, but you're right, anything longer than 20-30 mins can disrupt your circadian rhythm. Gotta be careful, lol

No problem, always happy to make new friends on here! And yeah very true about that rest duration. I always tell Siri on my phone to wake me up in 20 minutes when I take a rest. Any longer than that would probably be counterintuitive, I think.
