Cyalume's Interests

General	I enjoy birdwatching, doing crafts, and collecting things like books, postcards, stationery, stamps, etc. I also like researching and writing about J-idols, looking for lost idol media, and collecting CDs, magazine clippings, and similar items. I collect Pokémon TCG cards and Bandai Kids as well, and I’m interested in J-fashion styles like mori girl and 80s otome. ** When I was younger, I really enjoyed VNs, denpa, anime idols, Touhou, etc. I may not share about them very often, but they still hold a special place in my heart and I love talking about them.
Music	Me gustan muchos estilos!
Movies	Fantasy, musicals, and anything whimsical. I also have a soft spot for 2000s comedies and teen movies, and I really enjoy all kinds of animation. I also like Star Wars and Back to the Future! VERY IMPORTANT!!: I’m a proud Jar Jar Binks fan
Television
Books	I’m not an avid reader—my dyslexia and ADHD can make it difficult—so I like to experience books in other ways. I love picture books and photobooks; there’s so much you can learn from them. I also like comics, especially classic shoujo manga. That doesn’t mean I never read more traditional books, though. I really enjoy archival, heritage, and local history books—especially those about neighborhoods and everyday life. And as I mentioned in ‘About Me’ section, I love children’s literature. Some of my favorite authors include Beatrix Potter, Richard Scarry, Alison Uttley, Jill Barklem, Roald Dahl, Ludwig Bemelmans, Arnold Lobel, Dr. Seuss, and many more.

About me:

Hi! Welcome to my little corner of the internet

My name is Maria, but you can also call me Cyalume. I’m a 32-year-old woman from Chile, currently living with my partner in a small apartment. I’m a librarian but for now I work online.

I’ve been a netizen since 2007, and although I was never very active on MySpace, I did have an account to follow my favorite bands—I still remember FICE’s page, which was the only way to listen to their music back then. I miss those times, that's why I'm here.

In fact, I feel nostalgic in general, so I love that there's a possibility of creating a space like this.

My favorite things are fantasy, whimsy, and nostalgia. I love children’s books, especially those with beautiful illustrations. One of my dreams is to write or illustrate one someday.

My posts are mostly small informational pieces or recommendations about things I love—music, books, movies, or whatever happens to be on my mind (infodumping, I guess??)

As for bulletins, I’m still figuring out what to do with them. For now, I use them to share little things from my day or interesting finds that don’t quite feel like a full blog post.

I really enjoy making friends online. I’m always happy to accept friend requests as long as your space is friendly and SFW, but I feel more comfortable interacting with people over 24 due to the age difference, so I may not chat or comment much if you’re younger.
