I'm happy to find other appreciators of UK electronic stuff. Maybe it's because of its heavy use in film and media, but I find that a lot of my music friends will write music reminiscent of those genres, even if they're not fully aware of it. I guess Aphex Twin really gave us a different kind of enticing, groovy blueprint. |

Thom Yorke IS god! P.S. I don't tell a lot of people this, but I secretly enjoyed the first Creed album a lot and still listen to songs off it now and again, especially "One" and "Pity for a Dime." My first band used to cover "What's This Life For?" (There was some great stuff on their second album too, but I didn't like it as much and kinda lost interest after that.) hey arius, by Keenkon World; ; Report Yeah, I grew up on grunge/alt rock too! Nirvana, AIC, Smashing Pumpkins, STP, Hole, radiohead... such great music. Hence my hesitance to admit enjoying Creed. They really sort of felt like the beginning of the end of genuine music made by people who cared about making art. By the time Creed hit the mainstream, the corporate record labels were playing it safe and making mainstream music generic and bland and kitsch AF again. |
