I really like Jules Verne and HG Wells books, I also like Sherlock Holmes and Alice in Wonderland. As for more modern books Gordan Korman's books were my childhood.

But as far as fictional characters go I guess I look up to/aspire most to be like Engineer from TF2. If you mean actual superheroes I guess I'd say Saitama or Deadpool.
