General |
Learning languages is my passion. Everything about languages and culture interests me. I am learning Russian, Portuguese and Serbian primarily, but have began to look at beginner Lebanese Arabic. I love the people from other cultures that are accepting of me, they help me a lot in my learning. I have a particular obsession with Balkan and Slavic culture, but I admire them all. As a south Asian though, I have bias for my favourite. I don't think I have the potential of being a polyglot due to my memory retention problems but I am not giving up on my dreams. Fluency is my goal and that's where I'm going. Taking Philosophy and Sociology at a UK college, I used to take psychology but I had to quit due to the overload of information that I had to retain. The UK education system is the bane of my existence. I love the things I chose, that's not the issue. The places of education are the issue, and the problems inevitably reinforce capitalism. Therefore, I have detached myself from the crippling fear of not getting into my dream university. I received my conditional place there and I know that I have the potential. The obstacle in my path to achieving those grades is not just my problem, they need to take responsibility for the pain they caused me. Poetry enthusiast, I have my own poetry. You can literally just message me on here and ask to read and I'll give you the link, I love feedback. Also a religious girlie, I am a follower of Islam. Not a hater of other religions though, they're intriguing and I love to research them. Religion philosophy is literally my favourite thing ever, like I could yap about it for hours. I love my christians, particularly the orthodox christians. I've found them as the most respectful and loving to me and I appreciate their love for their religion too. Talk to me about religion for hours, it won't bother me a bit. It doesn't matter what religion I am and what religion you are, I'll never discriminate you for your faith. I love the religion lovers. |

Movies |
I rarely check out films, not really that type of girl. However, you can find everything on Letterboxd, linked on page. I like psychological thrillers and horror, however I haven't even checked out everything I planned to. Really chaotic list to get through right now. I like 2000s classics, foreign languages, films that mess your mind up, things that require thought or have a hooking narrative. Films that feature fashionable outfits have my heart. A few favourites of mine are Feed (2017), Thirteen (2003), Black Swan (2010), When Friendship Kills (1996), Starving in Suburbia (2014) for giggles, I've probably seen every 'femcel core' film out there. Books |
Currently reading Foxglove by Adalyn Grace. She's a good author, her and Natasha Preston. I love The Cellar by her, Naked by Kevin Brooks. Belladonna by Adalyn Grace is probably my favourite book. I like gothic novels, but I like informative books too. After reverting to Islam, I have taken more time reading about it. There's a lot on my Goodreads list that I haven't read yet, of Islam and also about Palestine. I want to continue learning about Islam rather than reading only fiction. I've always been a lover of 2000s in its movies and fashion. Love the Paris Hilton biography, I have a vintage Sabrina The Teenage Witch book too. I was thinking of creating a section of 2000s-esque books because of those, but I probably won't now. Not a huge hater of Tiktok viral books, however I hate Colleen Hoover and It Ends With Us. I got They Both Die At The End, and it was really good. I wanted the pink cover version but it was sold out. :( I loved The Song of Achilles, it took 20 pages for me to get invested but gosh, I really enjoyed it. Alice Oseman has good books, I am currently reading Solitaire by her. I read Radio Silence and, it literally killed me. I just loved it and it felt nostalgic to me. Heroes |
Nat Roberts is one of my favourite tiktokers. She's real and never romantacised mental illnesses that she's coping with and I love her for that. She used to be the reason I took what I took in college, however I've grown to love other interests more. Nethertheless, she helped me learn about psychology and I thank her for that. She aspires to help people that were in her situation, and helping people is one of my priorities. Her kindness to others and now to herself has helped me understand empathy as a neurodivergent individual. I feel heavily but she helps me process my feelings, and how to validate others' feelings. Maggie Lindemann has changed my life these past ten years. I've grown up to her music and I literally know everything about that girl, she is my life and she doesn't even know it. Her entire discography is perfection, I just love her. As I'm quitting music gradually, it means I'm leaving that portion of my life in the past. However, Maggie remains precious to me for the impact she has had on me throughout the years. Her lyrics remain impactful even if I can't listen to her music anymore. She's not just a musician, she's an author and a poet. Her lyricism is raw and has my heart. |
