my bedroom for whatever reason, universally my bedroom always seems to be the most poorly insulated so it gets really hot in the summer and freezing cold in the winter, lucky for your exploding brick its turning over into spring here now so my room is pretty consistently warm

It makes me so sad that v50 didn't buff terminal play AT ALL. terminal is so fun when you dedicate to it, but I can justify doing it because it's suboptimal at high level play and most of my recent playtime has been in public tryharding lobbies. AGH!!!!

If you could make your own monocolor sludge, what exact shade would it be and what would it taste like? Also how thick would it be? You don't have to invent a sludge you would want to eat, this is just an exercise in abstract sludge design.

and it would taste like berries but not overwhelmingly so, like a subtle hint of berry

More seriously, my first thought before I go back and review the chambers is chamber four, as it's like what my brain imagines as the default chamber, but it also just has good dynamics. Not so vertical that it would be hard to traverse in living there, I've always wanted to have a pit, and the glass in the room would be really fun to decorate around. If I was allowed this much control, I'd make the entrance the usable door to the room because visitors would be partitioned away from the rest of the room by the glass like a mudroom and then I would sleep in the elevator pod on the exit end because it would have more privacy assuming it no longer works as an elevator and will stay in my chamber.

Five is also a strong candidate due to being one of the portalist levels in my brain, but I'm against it because the larger space feels less homey and I there is too much glass which faces places I can't go, which would feel like the panopticon.

Reviewing the chambers one at a time, 17 is also really calling to me. You'd have to give me a ladder or something to navigate without the portal gun and you have to turn the laser ball off, but I would totally live there. Having an entryway that you have to climb up a bit to get in and then two back to back hallways with just a low room would be hilarious. Receiving guests would be so fucking funny. That and it has a bunch of distinct separate rooms that are roughly the size of the different rooms in a normal house. Real winner there.

Test chamber 6 of portal 2 chapter 1 would be a winner if it were shorter. I like the entrance but it just gets too big.

Portal 2 Chapter 3 Chamber 13 (without the turrets) would be hilarious to live in, but the fact that it really would be a long walk to just get into the living sized spaces would make it a hassle and also the aesthetic is the least homey of all the portal 2 chamber aesthetics.

p2 c4 c20 is honestly really nice looking as like a living room/kitchen space,but there is no closed private space within the chamber. If I can have the elevator room I would take this one I think.

ok so having looked through all the chambers, my list of acceptable chambers from portal 1 are 03, 09, 13, and 16. with 16 being the favourite. i think if the turrets are excluded the number of hallways and the separation of the rooms makes it feel much more like a true House and something i could decorate comfortably, the ceilings being relatively low (by test chamber standards) also helps, plus also the ratmans hideout making for a nice little secret room.

in portal 2 the only acceptable chamber i found was chapter 4 chamber 20, given the lasers are turned off i feel that this chamber would feel much like a regular studio apartment or some such, its large and open but not so large that itd be Unsettling, the addition of the secondary room with the hallway like space also makes for some comfortable separation. the only downside being the pillar in the middle of the second room, but i think putting up some kind of screen between the pillar and the wall can make it feel like a more legitimate room separation if so desired :]

I can not believe you think chamber 3 is acceptable. It's just a big L shaped room. I could never live in the L room. 9 is pretty good though. That was one that I considered as I was looking through them. Chamber 16 is a pretty understandable choice I think. If not for the turrets it's a pretty cozy place already.

I'm also glad we both agree that p2 c4 c20 already has studio apartment vibes.
