Music

I like most music! 60’s Folk and Folk, in general, which is probably the genre that’s nearest and dearest to my heart (Bob Dylan, Tim Buckley, Simon and Garfunkel, John Denver) All the classic rock up to the mid-80’s. I don’t like hair bands or glam rock as much, though. Most modern rock as long as it’s not generic Big Orchestral affairs (like “The Lord of the Rings” soundtrack) Classical music, if I’m not driving Experimental music and indie Dark wave/post-punk/80’s alternative (Sisters of Mercy, Depeche Mode, Joy Division, Tears for Fears, INXS) Alternative music in general Music from the 60’s (Janis Joplin, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors) 30’s/40’s Big Band (Kind of like Fallout type music, like the Ink Spots and Glen Miller) Less serious bands/music, like Tenacious D, Flight of the Conchords, Weird Al Soundtracks to musicals Some R&B (the pioneers and what not, Biggie, Tupac, OutKast’s earlier albums) Most metal, if it’s not screamo, and I can understand the lyrics. I don’t really like more modern pop, unless it’s an absolute banger. I’m not a big fan of Ska, unless someone were to hand me a surfboard and a ticket to SoCal, lol. Minimal Country, but I do like the legends (Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton)

Movies

Okay well, movies... Metropolis (1927) (Especially the version set to 80’s rock music. But the original silent version is also 🔥) Movies from the 60’s: Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, Valerie and Her Week of Wonders, I Am Curious (Yellow), Harold and Maude, The Graduate, Arthouse films are 😍 (Janus Films is a favorite company of mine) Jean-Luc Goddard, Ingmar Bergman The silent films L’age D’or and Un Chien Andalou Wet Hot American Summer 💕 Cult Classics: John Waters anything 😍 (Pink Flamingos, original Hairspray, Cry-Baby, his short films), Rocky Horror Picture Show (of course), Donnie Darko, Good Will Hunting, Plan 9 from Outer Space, The Lost Boys, Barbarella, Heathers, A Clockwork Orange, Legend, Labyrinth, Ed Wood, Mad Max, Eyes Wide Shut, The Fifth Element, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, SLC Punk!, Kevin Smith, obvs, Edward Scissorhands, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure (and the second one, too. The Bogus Journey, maybe?), Amelie, Dead Poet’s Society, Secretary, Mulholland Drive, Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny, ...But I’m a Cheerleader, Dude, Where’s My Car? (Honestly, so dumb. But I like it for some reason) Benny and Joon, Mulholland Drive, All of the Elvira movies and specials Classic horror (Basically anything with Vincent Price, Bela Lugosi, or Boris Karloff) Musicals: Little Shop of Horrors, Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar, Rent, Phantom of the Opera, Hamlet 2, Tommy, Cabaret, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, Moulin Rouge, Repo! the Genetic Opera (I have a huge crush on Terrance Zdunich and his comics)

Peep Show, Jeopardy!
