Evenscze's Interests

General

Emo/alternative music, 2000s scene nostalgia, tattoos, and cemeteries ♥ especially the silence, the darkness, the presence of the dead, the peace, and the cold, quiet atmosphere. Not always dressed the same, but still carrying it in soul and aura, and surviving on old playlists and emotional lyrics.

Music

Nu metal, alternative rock, emo, post-hardcore, goth, and early 2000s scene-era music ♥ including the bands mentioned above and similar artists alike. Heavy, emotional, and nostalgic music with intense instrumentals and meaningful lyrics that shaped the 2000s alternative era.

Movies

The Lovely Bones, Titanic, Narnia, Interstellar, sci-fi films, Studio Ghibli, anime, Cast Away, Saw, Jennifer’s Body, Twilight, horror films, and creepy, weird, unsettling movies with dark or unusual themes and bitin endings that stay in your head.

Television

Not much haha - ( Myx / MTV )

Books

Not much ♥ but I enjoy dark, emotional, and thought-provoking stories when I do read, especially anything with gothic, horror, fantasy, or melancholic themes.

Heroes

The artists and bands that shaped me growing up ♥ the music, lyrics, and subculture that helped me express myself and get through different phases of life.

Elder Emo Thoughts (view more)

Evenscze's Blurbs

About me:

Millennial mom • Elder emo since 2007 Being emo in the Philippines back then wasn’t easy. People here didn’t really get the music, the style, or why I wore black in this heat like it was a personality trait. I built my wardrobe from thrift stores my older sister used to drag me to whenever she bought clothes for herself ♥ tight clothes, goth fits, ripped jeans, skinny jeans that could barely breathe, studded belts, heavy eyeliner, and all the teenage emotions that came with it. Evanescence, Linkin Park, Bullet for My Valentine, Green Day, Bring Me the Horizon, Pierce the Veil, Escape the Fate, Underoath, Marilyn Manson, Flyleaf, Eyes Set to Kill, The Used, Story of the Year, Alesana, Secondhand Serenade, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Urbandub, Panic! At The Disco, Avenged Sevenfold, Franco, Slapshock, Cradle of Filth, Saosin, Foo Fighters, Blessthefall ♥ and bands alike raised me. I also used to live in VampireFreaks back when that was basically home. Now my kids are slowly learning about my past, and honestly, it feels nostalgic. My Chemical Romance raised me. Now I raise tiny humans. I traded personally made cute black pieces for other people’s things as memories, and the playlist never changed. Back in Valenzuela City, people in school and even in public used to stare at me like I was leading some kind of cult just because of how I dressed and carried myself. They never understood the style I had, but I kept it anyway. Still here. Still breathing. Still tattooed. Still emotionally attached to songs older than me.

Who I'd like to meet:

Fellow elder emos who survived the 2007 era and never outgrew it ♥ new emos thriving ♥ millennial moms, ex-scene kids, thrift store goth souls, and anyone still running on eyeliner, heartbreak, and loud emotional music. People who get it: screaming vocals as therapy, black outfits in tropical heat, ripped jeans and studded belts, and playlists that helped shape us more than we realized.
