General

everything reptilian/draconic, creature design, speculative biology/alien stuff. bugs, snails and miscellaneous little guys. i draw sometimes but i'm kinda bad at it. i collect pokemon cards but i don't collect for stinky investment purposes i just think they're neat. i love old computers and consumer electronics. i like learning about the ways that people in the recent past solved technological issues even if they ended up being commercial failures.

i also like old decrepit mall pictures they scare me but in a way that makes me think about the nature of the world idk

Music

I LOVE SUSUMU HIRASAWA I LOVE HIM I LOVE EVERYTHING HE TOUCHES. mostly. but i do love him. reading about his experiences and listening to his thailand inspired stuff helped me come out so he means a lot to me. he was also super cute but that's not the only reason i love him please ignore this

i think my favorite p-model album is scuba (i'll never own a scuba cd i have accepted this. life is pain) and my favorite solo hirasawa album is siren! i've honestly barely begun to even scratch the surface of all of his storytelling because i keep hyperfixating on p-model lol.

otherwise i enjoy most forms of electronic music with a focus on vaporwave subgenres such as slushwave

Movies

i don't watch movies very much bc of my attention span and when i do watch a movie i have to spend the rest of my day processing it. but i grew up watching godzilla movies with my dad so they mean a lot to me. i like the heisei and millennium godzilla series the most. my comfort movie is godzilla final wars bc it's SO SILLY it is peak 2004. but i also love the original gojira (1954) in a completely different way by being the most actually meaningful one

Television

i don't have enough to say about tv so i will mention my favorite video games. i call myself a gamer but i don't play video games as often as i used to. my favorite game of all time is spore, i've been playing it since 2008 and it's probably responsible for my interest in creature design. i have decade-old lore rattling around in my head for all my different spore civilizations idk i might write it all down one day

i also enjoyed playing some pokemon games, my first pokemon game is pokemon ultra moon and it's still my favorite. alola region is best. i've played the modern games but i don't like them as much

Books

i don't really read novels but i like reading other people's musings about life and their experiences. i like learning new things and feeling connections across cultures and time periods. i used to think real life was boring and pointless but it's quite the opposite! it's not that i think fiction is boring i just like interacting with it via poetry, art, music etc. if somebody's song or short story or poem or whatever can take me to a place or make me feel something i might be into it

Heroes

i mean. susumu hirasawa is my favorite guy. other than my partner of course. i'm usually wary to idolize people but it's really hard not to do so with hirasawa. i know he's a freakazoid expasotron and he likes messing with people and he makes problems for himself. but i think that's great. and if anything i relate to him more than i thought i would. i disagree with him on certain things but i love him anyway because he changed me and made me a better person. oops.

i also like jerma985 i think he's funny but i'm not super weird about him i just think he's a genuine wholesome funny guy.

also weird al yankovic i get gender envy from him sometimes
