ST!NE QU33N's Interests

General

I’m Stine, I am 18 years old and I simply like to dance and live blissfully in solitude. I take a bit to warm up to new people and may come off as bitter due to my shyness but once you get to know me better, I turn into the most funny, weird, outgoing, carefree person you’ll ever meet. My interests include cooking, daydreaming, collecting vinyls, the concept of not knowing what the afterlife is like, playing dress up and wearing avant-garde makeup, tall ugg boots, going on walks while it’s raining, reading about poisonous plants, techtonik dancing at any and every DJ set I go to, and 2000s music and pop culture (I am basically a 2000’s encyclopedia). If you need me, I'll either be watching Jersey shore or hanging with your chick!!

Music

Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Blood Orange, Washed Out, Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, The Chemical Brothers, Justice, Uffie, SebastiAn, Madonna, Fiona Apple, Daft Punk, Amy Winehouse, Frost Children, Charli Xcx, George Clanton, BabyMorocco, Millionaires, Beach House, Lorde, Solange, LCD Soundsystem, Caroline Polachek, Aphex Twin, X Ray Spex, FKA Twigs, The Libertines, 3OH!3, Pierce the Veil, and P!ATD. I pretty much listen to everything but country however I’m a sucker for French House music.

Movies

Childhood Classics include Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, Tangled, Barbie: Princess Charm School, St Trinians, Bend it Like Beckham, Nerve, and Dear Dumb Diary. As of right now, it would be, White Chicks, John Tucker Must Die, Amelie, Climax, Burlesque, Submarine, and Liquid Sky

Television

LOST (BEST SHOW TO EVER AIR ON TELEVISION)The OC, Desperate Housewives, Jersey Shore, Skins, 6teen

Books

Me, Earl and The Dying Girl, Point of Retreat, Since You've Been Gone

Heroes

My mom, Dev Hynes of Blood Orange, and most Drag Queens

My fashion heroes would be Alexa Chung, Poly Styrene of X Ray Spex, and The Olsen Twins

About me:

STINE'S SONG OF THE WEEK! Out Of Control by The Chemical Brothers (FUN FACT: Bernard Sumner of New Order did vocals for this song!) This legendary duo from Manchester has been #1 on my concert bucket list for YEARS!!!! Due to their insane visuals and their lengthy catalog of tracks that make you want to teleport to the ’90s, where you’re at an underground rave with your best mates in the middle of nowhere. Although you should be concerned, the adrenaline rushing through your body when the beats are bumping, the people around you are having a good time, and the drinks are hitting, all those worries don’t matter. I discovered this song when I was a sophomore in high school. I was watching The OC for the first time and got to season 1 episode 7 titled “The Escape”. In this episode, It’s our main characters' final week of summer until school rolls around, so they decide to take a road trip to Tijuana for the weekend. When Ryan, Seth, Summer, and Marissa are at the club having a grand old time, Marissa suddenly catches her boyfriend, Luke cheating on her with another girl named Holly. Marissa understandably upset, runs away and a brawl between Ryan and Luke happens. All of this goes down while Out of Control is playing in the background. Even though this was a huge moment in this show, I was more focused on how good the song was. After searching for the song and playing it in full I was captivated at 1st or 2nd listen, it then led me to a whole Chemical Brothers rabbit hole, and fell in love with more electronic music over time. I also rediscovered The Salmon Dance music video that I was obsessed with as a kid. If it weren’t for The OC, my music taste wouldn’t be what it’s like right now, it's introduced me to so many early 2000s bands/artists/songs such as Rooney, Death Cab for Cutie, The Dandy Warhols, and much much more. This song is off of the Chemical Brothers' third album titled “Surrender” released in 1999. Other songs off of that album that you should listen to are “Let Forever Be”(SO CATCHY AND THE MUSIC VIDEO IS FABULOUS), Under the Influence, and Hey Boy Hey Girl”. I would also recommend listening to their first 2 albums as well as going on YouTube and checking out their live sets, you won’t regret it!

Who I'd like to meet:

I would first and foremost like to meet Lady Gaga, she makes me feel safe and has shown so much love to the gay community. In general, however, I would like to meet people who want to bring fun into the world again. People who don’t feel embarrassed to dance poorly or pull a full-on Moose from Step Up in the middle of the dance floor. People who are not afraid of being who they are no matter what thing tries to stop them from doing so. People who enjoy deep conversation and telling stories from their life or from a random poem. People who aren’t afraid to love no matter what kind because love truly conquers all. So if you are Lady Gaga or someone with these traits then welcome!
