You ever heard of the board game diplomacy? I hadn’t heard of it, no. It sounds fun, but I think it might be wishful thinking to assume I could find multiple people to play it with me in person… have you played it? I've only played one full game to completion out of the two full games I've pulled together. I've also played a few smaller games to completion. It's good fun, but such a struggle to get people to put 6-8 hours aside at the same time. I brought it up because I'm considering starting a spacehey diplomacy game where we'd play maybe a turn a week and I wanna gauge interest. |

It's been a bit. How you hangin? A very long minute, indeed. I have been moving along as I always do, just busier than normal for the past few weeks. and you? What is news? New semester just started. I like most of my classes. Uhh. My irl friends got jealous of spacehey movie club and have started an irl movie club, instead of just joining spacehey. I've been working on digitizing some family cookbooks. Hmm. your friends didn’t want to be part of a super elite secret society of internet strangers? a shame. |

Have you seen the man in the high castle show? thr first two seasons are excellent and then the last two seasons use your investment as a hostage while they force you to undergo waterboarding. I wish I could only recommend half of the show. |

y'ever watch takeshi kitano's tour de force film, sonatine? if yes, what were/are your thoughts on it? if not, have you considered doing so? I just finished watching it (since I hadn’t before & wanted to be able to give some kind of opinion). I found it to be a really interesting & surreal exploration of monotony/desensitisation. With the odd pacing & discordant lightheartedness it felt like watching some kind of absurd yakuza summer camp film. I also very much appreciated it visually; the use of framing to imbue comedy into small deadpan moments was enough to make me laugh at essentially nothing (literally every time it cut to a scene between Ken & Ryoji in the first half was hilarious to me). Possibly more thoughts to come? I’m still ruminating over the ending. A fascinatingly bright approach to such a bleakly existential narrative. in the two years that i've been trying to sell people on this masterpiece—and, more often than not, failing—this has been the most satisfying response, bar none. greatly, immensely happy to hear it and fully agreed on every last point (down to the ken/ryoji segments being gold; i still think about their dumb nakano convo every once in a while). |

I swear to god I'm going crazy. Does your profile background switch on a loop or something? If I’m being honest, i have no clue how my profile looks on a browser because I lost my laptop charger and haven’t replaced it yet. So it’s entirely possible something is janky. this wouldn't be a browser issue,I just swear the striped background just isn't there sometimes. |

Besides elder scrolls online, what vidya gaems are you into? realistically… only the rest of the franchise. I’ve never committed myself to playing anything else. If you're not someone who plays many other ges, what got you into elder scrolls? really it was just introduced to me in high school by a friend, and i enjoyed the lore/world so much that i kept playing. all by chance. Here are some recommendations covered by youtubers whose opinions I like. |

Have you read the sexual politics of meat? And if so, would you recommend it to a cis man who has no intention to stop eating meat? its not something i have been inclined to read thus far. i’ll find a copy & give you my unbiased opinion when i’m done. I shouldn’t compile an extensive PowerPoint presentation of sparknotes for you, then? I mean, if it's recommended, I plan to read the book. Honestly my deal is that I've only heard good things about the book from people who are feminist and vegan, so as someone who does not plan to become vegan, I can't really use their recommendations as a good way to gauge if the book is still worth a read from a feminist but non-vegan perspective. you’re in luck! i am a non-vegan who reads for the sake of being introduced to diverse ideas. the perfect candidate. |
