Music

metal, jazz, electronic, folk, rock, anything experimental. some faves are s280f, sufjan stevens, ne obliviscaris. honestly if it falls under the umbrella of music there's a good chance I'll enjoy it

Movies

anything somber and dark. blue and purple. 35mm. faves are Possessor (2020), The Wolf House (2018), Moonlight (2016), Her (2013). most arthouse horror movies win me over if the visuals are good. animation.

Television

high fantasy will immediately be a favorite for me if it ever gets made. otherwise I'm heavily into Twin Peaks, Utopia (the 2013 one not the dick ass reboot), Mr. Robot, The Boys, Invincible, Lost (and I enjoyed the ending too), Chernobyl (the HBO one. I'm aware its a dramatization but it is pretty accurate for the most part), True Detective (acab but I mean come on s1 is a masterpiece), Violet Evergarden, She-Ra (the new one. fuck you boomers im gay)

Books

The Malazan Book of the Fallen. Mistborn + The Stormlight Archive. Game of Thrones. The Long Price Quartet. you can see where I'm going, high fantasy is my strong suit here. otherwise there's Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer (fuck the film adaptation !! they changed the story!) lots of language and music studies and textbooks but in particular Understanding the Leitmotif by Matthew Bribitzer-Stull is one of my favorites!
