General

Is this really real? Oh I hope this works out and doesn’t either die a quick death or fill up with Neo-morons. Anywho, on to the about me part. I make synth music for the most part although a depressive rut put that on hold for most of the last few years. I need to change that and I think a new(to me at least) retro social network is probably the perfect place for a refresh. I primarily focus on analog synthesizers but have had periods where I focused more on soft synths, tape cutting, traditional instruments and sampling. Im a big ol' card carrying married queer enby. Dysphoria has the degree I feel attached to M/F/Neither/Both sliding around but I just look at gender as an ephemeral construct like anything else we identify as during a given period of our lives. Things come and go. Sometimes they leave a lasting impression, other times they vanish without a trace. Maybe they return. This is good. This is the state of the universe. Flux, creation, expansion, dispersal, entropy, rebirth. I have no time for extremists, no matter what they think they represent. That kind of "nobility" is boring and counter-productive. I don't care what color your skin is, what you have between your legs, how you identify, who your invisible friends are, what your disabilities are or where you were born. As long as you treat me with courtesy and don't come at me we can get along just fine. Life is much more complicated than media with all of their agendas is willing to admit and unless you are rich we all have our hardships to deal with. Instead of stomping down with preconceived hatred, hold out a friendly hand up. I love cooking. I love eating. I love trying new foods and techniques. Sharing culinary traditions is something I look at as important to growth as a species. Its something apolitical that we can teach and learn from. Spices, grains and agriculture were more important to getting us out of caves than iron imo.

Well as far as my preferred medium I go with vinyl any time its an option. I love the sound and the tangibility of it. A few off the top of my head. Movies

I like weird movies, horror, sci-fi, superhero, documentaries, some action, few comedies. I'm not a fan of rom-coms of Lifetime movies. The exception is Holiday Heart. That one is a brilliant emotional rollercoaster that rips your heart to shreds.

Books

I don't read anywhere near as many books as I used to. Mostly just comics. Currently I'm reading Fundamentals of Sailing, Cruising, & Racing by Colgate, Gaimans Annotated American Gods, The Writings Of Aleister Crowley and the Guardians Of The Galaxy Solo Classic omnibus.

Heroes

Heroes will let let you down. Its a terrible pill but there it is. I try to separate the artist from the art and the current iteration of the messenger from previous messages. Its hard but people change. Sometimes for the better, others the worse. "Great" people have committed heinous acts and "monstrous" ones have bestowed kindness. Rose tinted glasses are rarely a good look longterm. There needs to be accountability for actions but we also need to leave the door to growth open.
