General

I polish aerospace glass components for a living; i do as little else as possible at all other times. I consume more media about talking about art and media than i do the actual art and media at this point. When i buy new smartphones it is exclusively because of whatever camera updates have been implemented and then I don’t take any pictures for something like 6 months.

Music

Since no phones are allowed in the building I keep my iPod classic at work, which hasn’t been updated or plugged into a computer since 2012. and it is very grounding to know nothing is keeping track of how many times i’ve listened to “No Reply at All” by Genesis (a lot) in order to put me on blast about it around new year’s.

Movies

Yes. Love da moviesh. Mank, Crank, Shawshank, Hilary Swank, Josh Trank; it’s all good!

Television

There hasn’t been a television show i’ve been able to enjoy since the twin peaks return. Streaming and especially binge-watching has probably been a net negative for tv; when i look at a list of episodes all lined up it fills me with dread. Hannibal; that was good though. How It’s Made is nice too

Books

There’s a bookmark in my copy of House of Leaves which i’ve already read more than once since i got it in 2006-07 that has not been moved from its place since march or april of this year and it is november right now. I’m very much the sort of person for whom having books and reading books are separate and completely unrelated.
