Ajdino's Blurbs
About me:
I'm passionate about history - its content and its preservation. I'm one of the biggest collectors of games from all eras, though most of my collection is digitally acquired and emulated. Whatever I can't emulate, I use real hardware to access and enjoy. I'm also an avid reader of 19th-century literature and an enthusiast of 20th-century music, television, and film.
I'm a major advocate for the Windows XP revival and the games that can be played on such a machine. I'm the founder of The Achilles Archive, a 4,000 game collection made specifically for users of real Windows 9x and XP machines. I strongly believe that games should always be playable on the systems that they were intended for. I'm also one of the figures behind the revival of Xfire.
When I'm away from home, I'm adventuring around with the love of my life in this beautiful Asian country I now live in, the Philippines.
I also have an ongoing mission to interview and record the life stories of every American Vietnam veteran I come across in life. I have, so far, collected half a dozen stories and hours tens of hours of material to submit to archives and memorials in the decades ahead.
I have three degrees, all of which aid me in my freelance preservation work.
Who I'd like to meet:
Anyone with an interest in history, anyone with an interest in old tech, and anyone that retro games.
